Folland's FIN News has a question regarding the new Fraesian constitution. "If it's a basis of government written by the Fraesians, for the Fraesians, why does the Acadian Senate need to sign off on it's approval?"

Okaiken sees that since Fraesia attacked first, Acadia does seem have the right to the belligerency and invade Fraesia because their nation is in danger; although it was also suspected that it might be also a blatant excuse by the Acadian Government to overthrow the Varcame Regime (referring to external sources and not Official Okaiken Government Source), which has good relations with USNW nations Kaskaskia and the Okaiken Imperial Kingdom. However, the Government is severely disappointed on how the situation was handled by the Acadian Federation and the neighbouring countries in Euphemia. Acadia did not explain fully the means of the Sovereignty Act, which caused a lot of confusion within the USNW countries. Due to this confusion, several nations misinterpreted the matter, (even Okaiken misinterpreted the matter causing a serious diplomatic crisis with Acadia).

What the Okaiken Government wants from Acadia is a full document of the Sovereignty Act and and excerpt of events from all members involved in the matter.

Okaiken, under the Article 9 of the 1968 Constitution, believes that disputes are not to be solved by belligerency itself. Okaiken will not further deal with external matters unless it causes problems with the country or its territories.

Prime Minister Tadagutsu Jobei

Folland FIN News:
President Johnson: Good question. The Senate needs to approve of the new constitution for the purpose of preventing another Varcame situation.
Representative Jack Williams: Really, you can think of this like "checks and balances". If we just let the Fraesians write up any constitution, it may benefit a certain class or group of people, and not all citizens equally. The Senate cannot modify the constitution in any way, they can only vote to approve of it. I might also point out that the constitution still has not yet been introduced to the senate.

Dantanaea Representative:
Representative Jack Williams: The Fraesians do have the ability to elect a president or other government official who is not in favor of Acadia or its reconstruction plans. Some will vote for someone not in favor of Acadia; everyone has their own opinions. But, it is still likely that the Fraesian Republic will have good relations with Acadia and be a large trade partner. I hope that answers your question.
President Johnson: Anti-Acadia is a large term. Fraesia is becoming a democracy, so like the representative said, it is possible, but unlikely.

Your answer is an encouragement for the Dantanaean Government and the course it has taken in this matter: Not to intervene until all is clear. We are content with your answer and look forward to the outcome of Fraesian elections and Euphemia's reaction to it.

The forces will withdraw from Fraesia once a constitution is ratified. The constitution will be ratified once the first president signs it. The date he will be inaugurated is January 1st.

But it can be earlier for RP. Razz

The Kaskaskian Government would like to express interest in formally reopening relations with the nation of Acadia, beginning by inviting the leaders of Acadia, Folland, Shayden, and Marqualis to sit down and have a discussion about the future of the Fraesia as well as the continent as a whole.

We still have some concerns about the situation in Fraesia, but are willing to come to the table and be a part of the discussion.

Jon: Excellent idea.

Acadia would like to have a formal meeting to discuss Fraesia's future, as well, and is pleased to be making progress in opening relations with other nations.

I'll try to get on Skype soon. Razz That's a lot of people to try to get on all at once. I don't think Sauberbmw is in our chatroom, either.

The Marqualis government would like to confirm with Kaskaskia that Marqualis will be attending the meeting to discuss the future of Fraesia. Once a date and time have been set, delegates as well as advisors will be sent at the location for which the meeting is to occur. Any further questions or inquires, please forward them to the minister of foreign affairs.

Fraesian Election
The election is narrowing down to two major candidates.

Acadian National News - Page 6 Images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQn0WTqvXHShYTz5iAkRXkwT2Bgtk0Wn2pxwkSXsyVr6Fyd7d_zSU65OgP2
Jean Lavallée
Jean Lavallée belongs to Fraesian Conservative Party. He supports creating a large military fund to help defend the new republic from other, stronger nations. Lavallée also opposes universal healthcare. During Varcame's regime, he was imprisoned for questioning the unusually long term length of Varcame in a newspaper. He believes in using any necessary measures to protect the freedom of all citizens and a military partnership with Acadia.

Acadian National News - Page 6 Images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRtZyfAu0-Hv_ZD1IUSkhJmBSc2ui7u3tGx8NDNaYQFLunJZogq
Édouard Deserres
Édouard Deserres belongs to the Fraesian International Cooperation Party. He supports peace and cooperation with all Euphemian nations, and hopes to encourage trade with other countries to help rebuild the economy. He has stated that he plans on working on maintaining friendly relations with Folland, despite Acadia's tensions with the nation.

Marqualis Withdraws from Fraesia
With Fraesian Reconstruction coming to an end, Marqualis has withdrawn from Fraesia. President Johnson was seen shaking the President of Marqualis's hand and thanking the nation for its support.

Acadia joins the Euphemian Bloc
The General Assembly has recently approved of Acadia joining the Euphemian Bloc. It is evident that Acadia wishes to end tensions with Folland and create friendly relations with other nations. It is very likely that Fraesia will join, as well. With the three major Euphemian powers in the bloc, this alliance should have a huge influence on local and overseas politics and a very strong military.

Acadian Elections
For those who are not familiar with past Acadian Elections, here is some information from ANN.
  • Acadia is a very conservative nation.
  • 10 of Acadia's 22 states are explicitly conservative, and their votes have gone to the conservative candidates for several decades.
  • 5 of the 22 states are liberal states.
  • 7 of the 22 states are independent or swing states.
  • When a popular vote is determined, a number of votes goes to a specific candidate that is proportional to the state's population.
  • The president serves for a term of 4 years.
  • The conservative candidate is Governor Matt Randall (C)
  • The liberal candidate is current president, Alexander Johnson
