Chancellor Grumboltd Places Strict Export Restrictions

After the discovery of large deposits of Precious Metals along the Lovise Mountains, most notably concentrations of Silver, Platinum, and Palladium, Chancellor Grumboltd put into place several restrictions on the Export of these metals to neighboring and overseas corporations interested in buying and refining the ores. This move has jumped Folland's personal wealth; making the metals worth much more, while putting tensions on Euphemia regarding the Euphemian Free Trade Agreement. Whether this will have any Political side effects is still to be seen.

No new information has been released regarding the unknown Gemstone discovered in the Lovise Mountains.

The chancellor has the power to do this? D: What happened to checks and balances?

Online Announcement Rallies Millions

On Tuesday, at 12:00am western Follandan time, a video was uploaded to the internet where a masked figure hidden in darkness spoke "-on behalf of the people". Over the course of the next 24 hours it acquired 30 million views and sparked online discussions for protests and public rallies. The Follandan government released a statement claiming it to be from the Shaydian based militant group that had spread across Euphemia and Althena, with their goal of trying to gain public support. At this time the Government has declared the group still dangerous and that everyone should refrain from contacting the group or associating with it in anyway in order to maintain national security.

In other news, Gas prices rose sharply in Folland as the import of Oil from overseas countries have become difficult. The cause of the rise in Oil prices may be related to Folland's restrictions on the export of it's newly acquired Precious Metals deposits.

Another bombing has occurred at a Government building in the city of Chetal. The building was completely destroyed as the explosives were apparently planted on the structure's supports. Local law enforcement have recovered 27 bodies as the search through the rubble continues.

In related news, public support for the Anti-Government militants from Shayden has risen in mostly the rural areas of Folland as discontent for the Government's handling of resources and civil services continues to grow.

New Bill Starts it's Rounds

A new bill has begun to circulate through the Government and the High Council. A coalition of sorts of Libertarian, and Democratic representatives in the Council have put forth a Bill that would effectively remove the Federal Income Tax altogether, and replace it with a "Consumer Tax". If signed into Law, all employed workers of any age will cease to have their earnings taxed, and instead Federal Taxes will be acquired through Consumer purchases of goods priced at $75 or more. Regular Provincial Taxes on Food, Beverages and other goods will remain in place.

Chancellor Grumboltd has already stated his position to not support the Bill, however it's fate remains unknown as it is supported by a fairly significant number of the High Council and several Governors.

Yay for no income taxes!  May Folland's economy, prosper.

Folland Spies on Neighbors?

A leak from an anonymous C.I.D. employee claims that Folland has active under cover agents within neighboring Euphemian nations. The leak doesn't state any details of the agents or their activities, possibly in an attempt to keep their safety, however this information could be a thorn in Folland's otherwise close relations with fellow Euphemian Bloc nations.

In other news, The Follandan Armed Forces Ballistic Missile Command has not changed its plans with an order placed with the Kuyrutian Company Bluestar, regarding the recent news of the munitions company selling nuclear capable missile components to the country of Vanadla.

Public Unrest Erupting in East Folland

Continued protests, mainly in metro areas in the rural regions of Folland have stressed local law enforcement to their limits. Protests and sporadic riots have broken out in the Vidar, Fallers, and Amundr provinces, and local governments attempts to curb the violence have only caused matters to worsen. Governors have approached the Federal government for military aid in calming the situation, and in recent statements, Chancellor Grumboltd is inclined to approve the deployment of troops against the violent activists.

In related news, several airlines have ceased domestic service to airports within the affected provinces, citing safety concerns for the reason why.

What's the cause of the protests?

Shayden Loyalist Front's influence over the downtrodden, distrust toward the new Chancellor. Basically 99% stuff.
