Already there have been protests against the deployment from anti-conflict supporters, criticizing the Chancellor for his willingness to send Follvirkeland sailors overseas to "someone else's fight".
(We'd like to apologize and clarify it is the "Gulf of Bayasa".)

On land, Navy helicopters begin ferrying dozens of combat ready soldiers to their awaiting ships. The task force will have these compliments in case ground engagement becomes necessary.

Army Ghost Helicopter crashes just off the coast of Wayward Naval Station, killing 5 Soldiers and both pilots. A sixth soldier is the only survivor and was subsequently rescued by a nearby Destroyer that was leaving port. The Ghost was ferrying a squad to the Destroyer Hinali when the tragedy took place and plunged into the water at high speeds.

Later investigation of the wreckage recovered indicated mechanical failure in the tail rotor, causing the helicopter to spin out of control while losing altitude. The survivor's name is being withheld but stated that there were no signs of foul play. This comes as a shock to the families afflicted, especially to the ones opposed to the deployment to the Gulf.

Malakkan Demands Follvirkeland to Leave

Malakkan's leadership in a recent statement demanded Follvirkeland's peacekeeping force to leave the disputed gulf immediately, stating Follvirkeland should "mind it's own business in affairs." This comes after noticing Follvirkeland's hefty contribution to the peacekeeping mission in terms of forces. In a press conference with Chancellor Moen in New Uniden city, he stated the following:

"We are not, and will never be a hostile force to anyone else in the world because we will it. Our military exists to protect the free citizens of this world. If we have become hostile toward you, then you have given us a damned good reason to be."

Still, Chancellor Moen has met with his Admirals in charge of the deployment, and the peacekeeping ships from Follvirkeland have been ordered out of the Gulf, to be stationed at the nearby island of New Loftindor. It is still clear, however, that Follvirkeland will continue to have ships in the area in case the worst comes to pass.

It feels like eveything bad in the continent of Neridea are worsening... The collapse of Gansbaii (I call it the Gansbaii Spring from now on) and the Malakkan crisis.

BREAKING NEWS

Just 2 hours ago, on May 30th, Seismographs recorded a 7.9 magnitude earthquake with it's epicenter located just outside New Uniden city, the capital of Follvirkeland. Several aftershocks were recorded with magnitudes of 3.2, 4.0, and 2.7. Seismologists are urging government officials to evacuate the capital's populace as well as the surrounding environs because the epicenter of the quake was found to be under Vyntess Mountain, a dormant volcano just outside the city limits.

Search and Rescue teams have just entered New Uniden city to scour through the rubble and find survivors, but initial reports indicate severe damage has been done to New Uniden proper, and no word has arrived about the well-being of Chancellor Moen and the Vice Chancellor. More information as it arrives.
