Government Building Leveled

13 minutes of gunfire ended with the explosion that destroyed a government building in downtown Uthersfield, a suburban city outside the capital. At 7:56pm AUT-7 time, local law enforcement responded to a shots fired report. Several units responded before the engagement escalated and Police SWAT responded to the scene. 12 minutes later, several explosions erupted from within the Central Intelligence Department Bureau. Sources have claimed it was financed and orchestrated by the Loyalist Front, a Shaydian Domestic Terrorist group. Could this be a reprisal for the earlier arrest of a Front Terrorist in Northern Folland?

Oh no! D: More attacks. Have we had any negotiations with these guys yet?

Village Attacked, Political Outrage

As the insurgency showed to be more rooted in the region than previously thought, expeditionary forces spread the area of operation farther and farther into the desert where Militant fighters built camps and bunkers everywhere. Now tensions in the region are escalating sharply after Folland warplanes attacked and destroyed a Village officially within Forgian territory. The Military made a statement claiming the village was a major recruitment and training center, but bombing assessments estimated at least a dozen civilian casualties. Statements given by the Forgian and Zebtesian governments; who hold a deep distrust of Malo, are outraged over the intrusion, and a physical response is all but certain.

Acadia believes the attack on this village to be just, as intelligence does show it was indeed a recruitment and training center.

Espionage in Folland?

In a case only seen in action suspense films, Folland's government agency, the Central Intelligence Department released a statement claiming to have apprehended a foreign national on charges of Espionage and Government Blackmailing. Not much else is known about the suspect or the charges, however the C.I.D. claims the spy has ties with a nation Folland has close relations with. No individual nation was named but this case is sure to cause serious political ramifications between Folland and the suspect's government.

D: Spies are not good.  Especially if he is from a friendly nation.  What could his government want?

Anyone who cares to step up and become Folland's bitch in this, be my guest.

OXACMELA WITHDRAWS INTEREST

In the latest news regarding the Euphemian Bloc Nations, the country of Oxacmela, north of Shayden showed interest in joining the Bloc Nations, but then subsequently withdrew it's interest after a short political exchange between Oxacmela and Folland. Oxacmela's reasoning behind the withdraw cited complications it's Constitution would impose militarily. Kuyrut, to the west of Shayden and Folland, have also showed interest in the Bloc Nations, but only in an observational capacity. This has been met with roughly positive reception, however some opposition exists due to the policy that all Bloc Nations must be fully responsible of their duties if they so wish to be a Bloc Nation.

Regardless of Oxacmela's withdrawal and Kuyrut's awkward stance, the Bloc Nations remain to be the largest Military and Economic Power in Adonian history.

EMERGENCY ELECTIONS IN PROGRESS

After Chancellor Moen stepped down from office to retire, along with several High Council members including a few other government officials, a large vacancy has been left in the Follandan government. Even with the vacuum, the Government has continued to run normally in the meantime, however it is apparent that major changes will happen in the coming weeks. The Democratic Socialists of Folland; a mostly minority party, are striving to get more seats on the High Council to obtain more political pull. More conservative groups have also begun campaigns to get more seats. The High Council, as well as the other government positions have been up to elections, though the position of Chancellor however has been purely left up to the decision of Chancellor Moen and Prime Minister Andella. A few candidates have been confirmed, including Chancellor Moen's daughter who is currently studying Law. Based on pure speculation, there is a high possibility the next Chancellor will remain "in the family" and Chancellor Moen's daughter will be chosen for the role.

Conservatives, yay.  This makes Acadia happy.

Folland's emerging conservative party in the government is beneficial for Acadian interests, and will affect the relations between Acadia and Folland very positively. 

Months of Mining Uncovers Staggering Find

Months back the Follandan Government funded several mining operations along the Lovise Mountains in hopes of jump starting the country's economy by mining metals thought to be present in the mountains. What was discovered was worth one hundred times more than simple Iron and Nickel. Scientists studying the minerals have now confirmed the Lovise Mountains; which run directly through Folland, are filled with precious metals and even a supply of gemstones never before found on Adonia before that, after further tests, have displayed what scientists claim are "-unusual effects when subjected to beams of light.". Soon after the discovery the Follandan Government classified the gemstones while putting the mining of precious metals of overdrive. The country's Gross Domestic Product is expected to rise.
