King-Emperor Charles I Imprisoned!!!
by Mike Oldfield

Francistown Times: News from the Imperial Federal Kingdom - Page 6 437px-BenBarnesPrinceCaspianPremier-cropped
His Imperial and Royal Majesty earlier this summer
FRANCISTOWN, GRAND - It is a sad day in the Imperial Federal Kingdom, as anonymous sources have confirmed the Miensburg Traditionalist claim to have imprisoned Charles I of Grand, Belluterra, and Malo following a coup d'état supposedly led by his fourteen-year-old brother Prince William, following days of riots in the Miensburgher capital of Mienenstadt.

The riots came to a head yesterday evening when fights broke out between Traditionalist and Modernist factions in the capital, followed by the national Gendarmery interceding on the side of the Traditonalists. A completely accurate casualty count has not yet been established, but at least sixty bodies - almost all of them Modernists - have been found, with a further thirteen people missing. The number of Modernists in prison has been estimated to lie in the lower two hundreds at minimum.

Our anonymous source has also told us that when the Miensburgher Royal Guard turned to arrest Charles at the Margrave's Palace, he ordered his personal contingent of Grandian Imperial Guards - reportedly 42 in number - to not defend him, but for them all to surrender themselves peacefully without bloodshed. The Imperial Palace could not be reached for comment, but political analysts have stated...

Alleged massacre reported in northeastern Brendenland

VERWALTUNGSTADT, VERWALTUNGSTADT INTERNATIONAL ZONE - Last night, the sleepy village of Celelfort - located less than sixteen kilometers from the Brendenland coast, and a little over nine kilometers from the demilitarized zone with the traditionalist-governed Union of Bergenstein - went silent. Several people claiming to be from the village have turned up in surrounding areas, alleging that they were survivors of a massacre which supposedly wiped out as much as four-fifths of the population. If these claims are correct, that would make it one of the worst massacres in modern history.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into these events, and the interim Prime Minister of the United Kingdoms of Bergenstein has issued a statement saying that...

Queen Johanna's cat has her first litter
by Maria Bargson

Lady Scruff with her four kittens
GREAT WESTERN PALACE, GRAND - Queen-Empress Johanna II's cat, Lady Scruff, has recently given birth to her first litter of kittens at her home in the Great Western Palace. The new mother is reportedly in good health, as are the four newborn kittens. The identity of the father is currently unknown, but is suspected to be a two-year-old tom dubbed "Shadow", who has been spotted wandering the palace grounds for the past eight months.

Lady Scruff - formerly dubbed "Mrs. Scruffy" - is the third white cat to have stayed at the Great Western Palace; two previous tomcats, both dubbed "Mr. Scruffy", lived on the palace grounds between 1994 and 2010, with a brief gap in the summer of 2000 following the first Mr. Scruffy's disappearance.

Upon the announcement of the births, the Imperial Federal Kingdom's branch of the International Feline Friends' Association issued a statement congratulating the queen, and declaring that...

Treaty of MienemStadt signed
by Mike Oldfield

Francistown Times: News from the Imperial Federal Kingdom - Page 6 Schloss_Charlottenburg_Berlin_2007
Royal Miet Palace, former home of the Margrave of Miensburg
MIENEMSTADT, BERGENSTEIN - The long road to reconciliation between the Imperial Federal Kingdom and the Republic of Bergenstein finally began yesterday, with the signing of a treaty officially ending hostilities and bringing an official end to the Bergen Civil War, which began with the King-Emperor being taken hostage after refusing to sign legislation for the execution of several hundred dissidents.

During a press conference held in Francistown shortly after the treaty was announced, we asked King-Emperor Charles I about whether he was sending a message by choosing to sign a separate treaty with Bergenstein, instead of signing the Treaty of Braavos - which effectively ended the Bergen Civil War - to which he responded...

Massive snowstorm batters Mitron
by Christopher Plaice-Hylder

Francistown Times: News from the Imperial Federal Kingdom - Page 6 Snow
Blizzards and heavy snowfall have wreaked havoc on transportation in the Mitronan capital
BEAUMONT, MITRON - A widespread snowstorm, part of a much larger polar vortex in Euphemia, has once again hit much of Mitron last night. Last night, nearly 36 centimeters of snow fell on the greater Beaumont area, with just about the same amount hitting Stark City as well. Other cities, including New Fontaine, Plainsboro and Chevalier were hit with as much as 25 centimeters of snow overnight. Areas more inland and away from the coast received less bay effect snow, but faced the same chilling temperatures. Wind chill in Beaumont was recorded at -35.5 C°, and many schools were cancelled today, with many expected to be cancelled tomorrow as well, with forecasts at -33 C°.

State legislatures are scrambling to work on solutions to the rising problem of calamity day overturn. All states give schools a 5 calamity day limit, but many schools are coming close to that limit or have already reached it. This is obviously a severe issue, and a proposal to expand the limit to 10 days is currently being worked on in three states, with the remaining to begin proposal talks within the coming days.

Funny how this giant storm is localized in a little area.

So are these six months real-time? Razz
