Of course, marine wildlife could always just eat the zombies - they're just decomposing bodies, after all, and if there's one thing the sea floor isn't lacking in, it's carrion eaters (the animals could probably do it without getting zombified or killed, too - many real life viruses have a pretty specific set of targets. You don't see dogs catching a cold, or humans catching tobacco mosaic disease). Razz

Of course, while they probably can't be killed by the disease, they may become carriers of it... study

(I am trying to base these more off of the World War Z Zombies.)

DAY 4 (June 9th, 2014): Multiple nations are now declaring state of emergency as the virus spreads. Experts are now suggesting those in the infected zone stay in their homes, and use self defense as necessary. Destroying the brain of the infected is the best way to stop them from attacking.

Shayden considers the proposal, and seems to show support for it. Though the infection has spread to North Oxacmela and Shayden worries that it may be too late for that proposal to be placed in effect.

Folland coordinates with Shayden to close their border with Oxacmela and expresses that a contingent force should fortify the border. Media coverage from the infected areas reaches outlets world wide and shows the people the truth of the virus and what it does. Mass panic erupts throughout Folland with several suicides nationwide, claiming the end of days. Harbors are crowded with people trying to climb into boats to head out to sea.

Also you're basing this off the World War Z zombies? xD Those zombies remind me more of ants than anything else.

You mean the movie zombies or the book ones? The movie ones are like superhuman Jamaican sprinters, while in the book they are slow and like usual ones.

Mitron has now begun loading up ships with supplies and sending government officials to sea with ships packed with supplies for years. Overseas troops have been evacuated, except army/air force troops located in Abassid. They are working in conjuction with the Abassid military in containing the infection. We are attempting to set up remote safe areas in the desert with enough supplies to sustain themselves a while and we are landing planes full of crop seeds in an attempt to build remote farms. The engineers in Abassid are attempting to build fortifications to these areas. Back on mainland Mitron, citizens are urged to stay inside. Many are fleeing to the sea or to the mountains. The military is attempting to keep order and also be prepared to defend against these "biters" as they are called in Mitron. So far, there is no documented infection in Mitron.

If I recall, the WWZ zombies could be taken care of by any decently-equipped military battalion, as long as they had a commander who had a basic grasp of tactics Razz

Of course, it's supposed to take time before they realize to use semi-automatic weapons, make a big line and shoot right for the head. Lol

I suppose we ran out of ideas for how we react to this "disease", "infection", "virus", whatever you call it. Razz

So Kurt moved us up in the timeline. So now Mitron will survive. Hopefully. Maybe. Doubtful. Now Adonia will fall. 200 years from now Earth astronauts will find this ruined wasteland of a planet. With zombies everywhere.

Okaiken has determined that the virus is a retrovirus, similar to HIV/AIDS. This is an uncurable virus, according to the researchers at the University of Okashi. Unless the solution for HIV is found, we would not make any progressions with the virus.

Okaiken has reported its first case. Kohei Umagaya form the Finance Department has contracted the disease. He was executed and his body disposed of.

So far, there is no trace of the disease in Mitron. With the aid of Okaiken, we managed to build a device that can detect for the disease over a large area. We are now sending copies of the device to fellow nations around the world, via the Mitronian Air Force. The Chancellor has issued a statement saying that, seeing as strategically Mitron is a great place to defend against this disease, that if any Euphemian Bloc/friendly countries' leaders would like asylum here, or aboard a Mitronian naval ship, it is granted, as long as they pass a medical check first.

Also, the MBI inquires to how the disease was contracted by Mr. Umagaya. Okaiken is supposedly safe. ???

WARNING:

A man attempting to leave the island of Lomni broke through a security checkpoint after showing symptoms of the retrovirus, and fought to get onto the passenger ferry bound for Osburn, Folland. The man was fired upon multiple times by Army Guardsmen and killed before getting onto the boat, however multiple people came into contact with the suspect. The virus has reached the island which is now quarantined by the Navy. Mass Panic has broken out.

Construction firms hired by the government and in tandem with Shayden and Acadian groups have begun construction of the Shayden-Oxacmela Border Wall.

The Triumvirate government has moved and is currently on board the Imperial Yacht Vigilance, which will be located at an undisclosed location until further notice. The federal government continues to stress its policy of isolation, and has declared martial law to that effect - anyone attempting to enter or leave the country will be shot at, and people exhibiting unusual behavior will be detained until trained medical personnel can determine the presence or absence of the virus.

Ikiana has confirmed multiple cases of the virus within its borders and has begun measures to contain the disease. People swarm the airports and ship terminals only to be turned away. Looting and mass hysteria commence.

Kwangju has reported multiple cases of the virus, and has now taken steps to prevent the disease through setting up concentration camps. Okailen has disallowed water and air travel...

Okaiken has concluded screening of its aircrafts... They were found to be positive with the virus. All Okaiken airports are closed and quarantined. Okaiken civilians are asked to stay indoors and exit only for emergency reasons.

The situation on Lomni island is deteriorating. Most of the populace lives in towns on the coast. Possibility of the populace being overrun is extreme.
