Of course, marine wildlife could always just eat the zombies - they're just decomposing bodies, after all, and if there's one thing the sea floor isn't lacking in, it's carrion eaters (the animals could probably do it without getting zombified or killed, too - many real life viruses have a pretty specific set of targets. You don't see dogs catching a cold, or humans catching tobacco mosaic disease).
