Military Suppresses Women, but for Different Reason
A new Act was passed earlier this morning relating to all branches of the Military, stating that Females are barred from any combat roles in the Folland Armed Forces. The initial reaction came with outrage. Womens groups were quick to call infringement on Womens rights, however a speech made by Chancellor Moen himself quieted the opposition as he was seen on national television in tears.
I know many of you are upset over this, recent Act. I am in no way hindering a Woman's right to be a Man's equal... (Chancellor took a pause to gather his thoughts.) I was informed three days ago that, my niece, Corporal Leah Desiree Moen was, killed in action while on tour in Malo. (The reporters were silent as he took another pause.) I want to save family from hearing this, tragic news about their sisters, daughters, cousins, friends. The women of this country are our future, for many reasons. I will do anything to safeguard them. (Chancellor Moen then walked away from the podium.)
The act was called, the Leah Moen Act of 2012.
Crises looms over East Althena
The recent developments in Nilia and Albian have caught the attention of many nations around the world as Communist forces from Guangji push north, taking border towns. The Folland government remains unsure of what to do as they continue to watch what's unfolding.
Euphemian Powers Come Together
Following a proposal by Chancellor Moen, the governments of Shayden and Acadia have joined Folland in forming the Euphemian Bloc, an Economic, Technological, and Military Alliance of Euphemian peoples in order to enhance friendship and unity throughout the continent. This comes as a pleasant surprise about Acadia's willingness to join when comparing it to their past tensions with Folland over Fraesia. A new dawn may be breaking over Euphemia.
