I agree that the dependencies shown would be unrealistic. It just doesn't make very much since for such a small country to have so many large and widespread dependencies. Even though the Holy Roman Empire was made up of many smaller states, they were contiguous. If the dependencies were less widespread and smaller it would make much more sense. As it is I can't imagine a country like that in the last map you presented existing in the real world.
It is, however, up to you. If you wish this application to go to vote in it's current state, you need only ask.
