International Tennis League 604px-Wim_tennis

Since the collapse of the SimSports Tennis Tour in December, there hasn't been a tennis-only league. So, I decided to restart one! Very Happy The deadline is the 1st of May (sorry about the short notice  ), and here is some other info about the league:

For now, it's only singles, but I will expand in the future. The first season starts on the weekend after May 1st and lasts for three months (that might change, depending on the number of players), with a one month break between seasons. You can sign up up to 4 countries, with a maximum of 2 players per country. Nations who sign up for one season don't need to sign up for the next one, but you should inform me if you want to withdraw or replace your player. The playoff format is like this: two players play 3 games against each other. The player who wins the most games wins a set. Whichever player wins 2 or 3 sets goes to the next level, and so on, until only one player is left. Also, the two losers in the semi-finals play against each other for 3rd place. I sim with Coolbuddy Tennis, go here for more info on how I sim: http://simsports.darkbb.com/t2587-announcement-only-two-weeks-left

Here's the signup form:

I'm starting to sim the games today, since I might not be able to on the 1st, because there's a tennis tournament on that day.

This DOES NOT AFFECT SIGN-UPS, so, please, sign up! Smile

Oh, and USNW members, if none of you sign up, then this will be a completely AIN-dominated event... just look at how many AIN members have signed up so far Razz

International Tennis League 1Cattala-MonnacivsInsulo-Salazar

William White wrote:

Here we are, on this bright sunny 1st of May, in the capital. Today, the first season of the International Tennis League kicked off with the match between Alessandro Monnaci, from the United Kingdom of Cattala, and Fernando Salazar, from the Republic of Insulo. Monnaci quickly got a head start, rapidly gaining point after point, while Salazar was only able to get in 2 points inbetween. The first game ended with a Win-30 score.
The second game started with Salazar serving. Salazar played better this time, and despite an unlucky net-hit during the game, the score had soon reached 40-40. But Monnaci wasn't going to give up easily, and he soon had Advantage over Salazar. He then capitalized on his advantage, and won the game.
By the third game, Monnaci was getting pretty confident of winning, while Salazar was getting desperate, knowing that if he lost this game, he would be out of the competition completely. A ball from Monnaci that landed outside the boundaries early in the game served to encourage him, and he soon beat Monnaci 30-Win.
Because Salazar had just won the third game, a fourth game was in order, because of the requirement that in order to win a match, one has to be two games ahead. Salazar again defeated Monnaci, after gaining Advantage over Monnaci, and then pressing home his advantage, requiring a fifth and sixth game to decide the winner.
The fifth game played out much like the fourth, except that one of the points Monnaci gained during the match was due to a net ball caused by Salazar aiming too low. The sixth game started with a serve by Salazar, which landed on the line, counting it as an "Out". Monnaci went on the offensive and quickly wore out Salazar. The game ended with a 15-Win, in favor of Monnaci. He thus avoided being kicked out of the competition, for the time being.
The seventh game kicked off with a serve from Monnaci that was quickly returned to him, but as it was returning, it grazed the net, giving the point to Monnaci. Monnaci played well, but so did Salazar, and soon the score was 40-40. The ball soon was passing back and forth so quickly that it was difficult for the spectators to see where it was going, but soon it was announced that the Advantage was Salazar's. Monnaci served, but in a reverse of what happened at the beginning of the game, the ball grazed the net, giving the decisive point to Salazar.
The eighth game was played well by both sides, but it was getting apparent that both players were getting exhausted. However, victory was in sight, and it wasn't too long before Fernando Salazar had defeated Alessandro Monnaci Win-30, meaning that Salazar won the match 5 games out of 8, ending the Battle of Powerhouses, and the first match of the ITL.

That's all for now. Come back in a few hours to see the Kingdom of Waterbridge battle the Republic of Syldavia. This is William White, signing off, and thank you for watching.

International Tennis League 2Waterbridge-CarmichaelvsSyldavia-Salt

William White wrote: Ok, so now that you're all back, we can start our report of what occured during the match between Ross Carmichael, of the Kingdom of Waterbridge, and Mikhael Salt, of the Republic of Syldavia. The game began, and a flurry of points were added to each side, and after a few minutes, the score was 40-40. Carmichael started playing only a couple of feet from the net, surprising Salt, who hadn't anticipated this. Carmichael pressed home his subsequent advantage, and the game concluded Win-40 in favor of Carmichael.
The second game wasn't as lucky for Carmichael, as when he returned Salt's serve, the ball passed along the net, giving the first point to Salt. After this, Carmichael started trying to play close to the net again, but Salt was ready for this tactic, and he subsequently gained two more points, putting the score at 40-love in favor of Salt. Carmichael desperately tried to reach 40 himself, and he was able to reach 30, but Salt then served a decisive serve, winning the game.
The third game was a disaster for Carmichael. He missed ball after ball, and although he was able to return one ball, he missed the ball when it returned. He finally was able to get a point through, but it was only because it grazed Salt's racket as it passed on it's way to the outzone. Salt then returned a fast ball, which Carmichael again missed, causing the game to conclude 15-Win in favor of Salt.
In the next game, the match game, Carmichael did relatively better, but still, Salt characteristically out-played him, and the game ended after only 10 minutes, with a score of Win-30 in favor of Mikhael Salt, resulting in him winning the match, dropping Ross Carmichael out of the contest, and thus providing the opponent for Salazar in the next round of the International Tennis League.

That's all for now. Come back tomorrow morning to see the Republican Kingdom of Grand and Belluterra play the Federal Republic of Nuevo Rico. This is William White, signing off, and thank you for watching.

International Tennis League 3Grand-StrogoffvsNuevoRico-Valas

William White wrote:Here we are back again, to see what happened when our great Republican Kingdom of Grand and Belluterra took on the Federal Republic of Nuevo Rico. The two contestants were Russian-born Michael Strogoff, from Grand, and Red Valas, from Nuevo Rico. The match started with an awesome serve by Strogoff, which Red completely missed. He was luckier on subsequent tries, however, and they were soon tied 40-40. However, Strogoff quickly gained the advantage and defeated Valas.
Strogoff continued his luck with the subsequent game, and he totally wiped out Valas Win-15. Valas only got that point because one of Strogoff's returns touched the net as it passed.
However, his luck seemed like it had been worn out on the last game, because in the third game, Valas beat him Love-Win, in the fourth game Win-15, and in the fifth game, he, after a long battle with Strogoff which saw them Deuce 4-4 and 5-5 at different points, got the advantage over him and defeated him 5-Win.
Strogoff was getting desperate to win the next game, and so he did, after a game which resulted in a score of 30-Win. He also won the next game, which would've resulted in his opponent getting only one point, had he not foolishly decided to raise his racket to try to return a ball which was obviously going out. The ball only grazed the racket, and proceeded on its way out. The game ended minutes afterwards, Win-30. His victory in the next game, after a heavy battle which included in net-grazers on both sides, not to mention a tie at 40, which forced Strogoff to get the advantage over Valas and defeat him 40-Win, securing victory in the first set.

The second set began with a bang, as Valas gained point after point, and the score was soon Love-40. Strogoff was not to give up without a fight, however, and he soon evened the score to Deuce, 5-5, partially thanks to a netball from Valas. But Valas then surprised him with some fast balls, and he quickly gained advantage, and he pressed it home. 5-Win.
Strogoff decided to win the next game, and so he did, 15-Win. It would have been Love-Win, but he accidentally returned one ball a little too fast and too high. The ball flew to the reporter's box high in the grandstands, hitting my assistant in the head, and of course, the referee counted that as an OUT, giving the point to Valas.
Despite his decision to win the third game as well, he did not, as his opponent defeated him Win-15. He did win the fourth game, however, after a long game that resulted in him winning with an advantage, 40-Win.
He wasn't lucky at all in the rest of the games that set, with him hitting the net every other time on the next game, thus losing Win-40, and while Valas hit the net the next game, he still won 40-Win again, thus securing the second set for himself.

The match set began as a disaster for Strogoff, as he, despite playing extremely well, even going ahead of Valas at one point, and deucing him 4-4 at another, while his opponent seemed to have a chronic problem with faults and even a netball, lost to Valas Win-4.
He did even worse the next game, as he lost 15-Win, and he would have gotten love points in that game, had it not been for a netball from Valas.
Red Valas secured victory in the match in the final game, with a score of Win-30, partly aided by an out and two netballs from Strogoff. Michael Strogoff therefore became the first USNW citizen to drop out of the competition, while Red Valas advanced to the second round.

That's all for now. Come back tomorrow morning to see Linktoria play Andover. This is William White, and as I sign off, observe a minute of silence for my assistant. Thank you for watching.

International Tennis League 4Linktoria-OwensvsAndover-VanRuit

William White wrote:...back to Tennis. Here we go. Good morning everyone. I'm sure all of you, especially the Linktorians and Andoverites, been wondering how the match between Eric Owens, from Linktoria, and John Van Ruit, from Andover, turned out. So, without further ado, here we go:
The first set of the match started out as expected. Owens quickly gained the upper hand, not surprising considering he comes from a country that is officialy nicknamed "The Athletic Country". Van Ruit played well against his opponent, but nevertheless lost Win-30 to his opponent.
Van Ruit fared even worse in the second game, despite being the server, and lost 15-Win to Owens. He also lost the third game of the set, again Win-30, ending the shortest set in ITL history, having lasted only 40 minutes, with a Linktorian win.

Eric continued his winning streak in the next set, with yet another Win-30 game. He did lose Win-40 to Van Ruit, however, in the second game of the set, after a heated battle that saw two faults, one netball, and an advantage by Van Ruit.
Eric avenged his loss in the subsequent game, and won yet ANOTHER Win-30 game, thanks to three netballs by Van Ruit, and despite a netball and an out of his own.
In the fourth and final game of the second set, Owens, characteristically won another 30-Win game, after a relatively long game which included an out on both sides and a netball by himself, securing victory in the second set as well.

Eric Owens seemed to be unstoppable as he breezed his way to yet another victory, uncharacteristically, a Win-15 game. He again won his fourth game in a row, after a long fight which resulted in a score of 40-Win, after his advantage was secured by Van Ruit's netball.
Van Ruit, knowing that he had tired out Owens in the previous game, played aggressively in the third game. He won, 15-Win. He again won in the subsequent game, despite two netballs from his side, Win-30. He yet again in the next game, although it was a heated and extremely long game, lasting 25 minutes, with deuces at 4-4, 5-5, 6-6, and 7-7, not to mention multiple advantages on both sides, and an out by Owens which cost him the game. The game concluded 7-Win in favor of Van Ruit, concluding the longest game in ITL history.
The game apparently exhausted Van Ruit just as the second game of the set had exhausted Owens, for Owens got another characteristic victory, 30-Win, despite two netballs, and partially thanks to an out by Van Ruit. It would be his last victory this set, as Van Ruit won two the subsequent games, 40-Win and Win-30, respectively.
Despite these victories, which secured the set for himself, John Van Ruit hadn't won the majority of the sets required to win the match. That distinction went to Eric Owens, who thus won the match, advancing him into the next round, where he will play Red Valas from Nuevo Rico.

That's all for now. Come back tomorrow to see the Kingdom of Waterbridge play the Republic of Karasem. This is William White, signing off, and thank you for watching.

International Tennis League 5Waterbridge-VasservsKarasem-Kasim

William White wrote:...Andy? Hi! Congratulations on your... whoops, are we on? Yes? Sorry, Andy. Talk to you later. Bye! Anyways, hello guys! If you've been in the dark as to how the match between the Kingdom of Waterbridge's last player (who ironically was the first ever player to sign up in the ITL) and the Republic of Karasem played out, fear not, you've come to the right place, for we shall reveal it to you! Without further ado:
The game began with a bad omen for Andre Vasser, as his first serve resulted in an out, automatically giving a point to his opponent, Tahirudin Kasim. He did, however, manage to get one more point before being pinned down by return after return. The game ended 30-Win in favor of Kasim.
Vasser did better in the next game, and he was soon 40-Love, with the aid of a netball from Kasimcity. However, as he said afterwards, Kasim was just waiting to prove how good he was at tennis, and he rapidly got advantage and then, he won again, Win-40.
He apparently was using the same strategy again in the third game, but this time, Vasser wasn't going to fall for that trick, and he first deuced Kasim, then got advantage, and finally defeated him Win-4.
However, this luck was not to continue, and he was defeated in the final game of the first set Win-30, partially thanks to a clumsy return that caused a netball, thus making Kasim the undisputed victor of the first set.

Vasser got a good start in the second set, as he, after a long game that included a 4-4 deuce, he won Win-4, with the advantage that always comes with such wins. He lost Win-30 in the next game, however, thanks to an unlucky net from his side. However, after a relatively long game that included an advantage, he won again, Win-40, in the third game, largely thanks to a netball and out from Kasim's side.
The next game was a huge dissapointment for Vasser, as he hit an out and a netball, and lost Win-15 to Kasim. He did win the next one Win-30, but nevertheless lost the sixth game to Kasim Win-4, after a 4-4 deuce, two advantages, and a final netball that cost him the game.
The seventh game was a success for Kasim, though he afterwards said it was one of the most tiring games he ever played, with deuces at 4-4 and 5-5, two advantages for Vasser and one for Kasim, a netball by Kasim which nearly cost him the game, and an out by Vasser which did cost him the game. The game finished at 5-Win, in favor of Kasim.
Kasim won the eighth and final game of the set Win-30, securing the second set for himself.

The second set started good for Kasim, as he got point after point, and he quickly reached Love-40. He then won, despite a final serve from Vasser that put the final score at 15-Win. Vasser struck back in the second game, with a reverse of the previous game, 15-Win. He won the next one too, despite a grand total of three netballs from his side, which helped put the score at Win-4 in favor of Vasser.
Despite this, Vasser lost the next game to Kasim, Win-15, and the one after that, 4-Win, with an out and a netball, both happening consecutively, and thus causing him to lose.
Vasser did well in the next game, with another 15-Win victory, but Kasim closely defeated him in the next game, 40-Win.
The next game brought Kasim's hopes one step closer to completion, as he defeated Vasser Win-30, aided by an out from Vasser. Winning three sets straight meant that Andre Vasser was totally defeated, and Tahirudin Kasim will advance to the next round, thus placing the burden of representing the United Confederacy of Massaria entirely on Hans Satturburn, from Andover. This game also ranked Kasim and Vasser #2 and #4, respectively, in the ITL.

That's all for now. Come back tomorrow to see the Democratic Republic of Martopia play Athens County. This is William White, signing off, and thank you for watching.

International Tennis League 6Martopia-MarchvsAthensCounty-Jackson

William White wrote:Good day people! Today, the match between Joe March, from the Democratic Republic of Martopia, and Larry Jackson, from the nearby nation of Athens County, was temporarily postponed because of the weather, but it later cleared up, allowing the match to proceed. Without further ado, the match:

The first game started like any other game, with a serve, in this case, by March. He quickly gained a point, and was on his way to a second, because of an outball by Jackson, but for unknown reasons, he touched the ball with the racket as it passed, giving the point to Jackson instead. Jackson quickly gained several more points, and despite his opponent soon afterwards gaining one more point, he won 30-Win.
March was luckier in the next game, as he won, 30-Win, thanks to a netball by Jackson, and despite a netball and outball from his side. Jackson again won in the third game, after a long battle that saw three advantages, two deuces, and a netball. The heated game ended 5-Win, in favor of Jackson.
March suprisingly breezed his way through the fourth game, totally defeating Jackson Love-Win. He also won the subsequent game with an advantage, Win-40, despite three netballs from his side. He gained victory, 40-Win, in the fifth game of the set, partially thanks to two netballs from Jackson, and despite a netball and out from himself. Thus, March won the first set.

The second set began as an embarrasment for March, as he hit two netballs in a row. He then, on his third serve, was able to get a ball through giving him a point. It was all points for him from then on, and a netball from Jackson finished the game with a March win, Win-30.
He again defeated Jackson in the next game, largely thanks to an out and a netball from Jackson, finishing the game 15-Win. He finalized the set in the third game despite an out from his side. He, despite that out, got advantage and defeated Jackson Win-40, ending the game and set.

Jackson finally started to strike lucky in the last set, as he quickly beat March Win-30. After a considerably longer second game, he finally got a decisive advantage and won 5-Win. He did, however, lose the third game of the set, largely due to an unlucky outball, which ended the game 15-Win in favor of March. He won the game and set, but not the match, in the fourth game, despite a netball and an out from his side, putting the final score at 30-Win in favor of Jackson.
Despite winning the final set, Jackson did not win the majority of the sets, and so he dropped out of the contest. March, on the other hand, will advance into the second round, where he will play Tahirudin Kasim from Karasem.

International Tennis League 7Sunrise-PottervsCincinnati-Mayo

William White wrote: Hello, and welcome back to WSN news! Before we go on, we'd like to apologize to everyone that we weren't able to have the match between the Sunrise Empire and Cincinnati yesterday, but, as I'm sure you know by now, it was because of the announcement of the death of our dearly beloved King-Emperor Daniel I. Anyways, on to the match, between Miss Sally Potter, from the Sunrise Empire, and Miss Abby Mayo, from Cincinnati:

Potter did quite good initially in the first game, but then Mayo barreled ahead of her and beat her 40-Win. Largely thanks to two netballs by Mayo, Potter totally defeated her Love-Win in the next game. The third game was quite long, and included a deuce, but in the end, Mayo won it 4-Win. Despite two outs, Potter won the next game, 30-Win. After a long fifth game, Mayo took advantage and defeated Potter 40-Win. Potter reversed this in the sixth one, and beat Mayo, 40-Win. Despite a clumsy return resulting in a netball, Mayo won the seventh, 30-Win.
Potter started to play aggressively late in the eighth, surprising Mayo, who was just about to beat her. She quickly gained advantage, and Mayo, surprised, served a netball and an out consecutively, thus ending the game 40-Win in favor of Potter. Potter broke out of the cycle in the ninth game with a winning score of Win-30. She ended the set in the tenth, with another final score of 30-Win.

Mayo was lucky from the start of the second set, as her opponent served two netballs consecutively. Potter didn't want to give up any more ground to Mayo than she had already, and she fought deperately to prevent Mayo getting any more points. The plan worked- She won the game, Win-30. Potter pressed her luck further in the next game, and she was doing relatively well, but an unlucky out sealed the fate of that game, with a winning score of Win-30 in favor of Mayo.
Mayo rapidly won game three, thanks to a netball late in the game, which helped her advantage, and despite a netball of her own. The game concluded 40-Win, for Mayo.
Potter fought hard in the next game, knowing that she would lose the set, and thus run a risk of being dropped out of the ITL for the rest of the season, should she lose the game. She won, with one of her signature 30-Wins. Thanks to a netball from her side at the last minute, which thus added a point to her opponent, she won another characteristic Win-30. She then rapidly got advantage in the sixth game of the set, then won it 4-Win, thus securing her eventual victory in the match.

Mayo fought hard in the first game of the final set, winning it 40-Win after a long battle. Mayo, however, was defeated by Potter in the next game 15-Win. Potter also won the third game Win-40, despite an out late in the game that nearly cost her the game. She then went for a final victory, 30-Win, dropping Abby Mayo out of the competition, and thus securing Sally Potter's place in the second round.

That's all for now. Come back tomorrow to see Louisville play the Socialist Republic of Matinenda. This is William White, signing off, and as I do, please observe a minute of silence in honor of Daniel I. Thank you for watching.

International Tennis League 8Louisville-ChildsvsMatinenda-Delianni

William White wrote:Aieo! Welcome back! Again, we sincerely apologize for not reporting on the ITL recently, but that's because this season has been somewhat delayed as we are currently in National Mourning over Daniel I, and thus, we only have these matches on weekends. Anyways, today's match was between Mr. Simon Childs, brother of fellow ITL contestant Austen Childs, from Louisville, and his opponent from the Socialist Republic of Matinenda, Miss Olivia Delianni.

Miss Delianni was constantly keeping Childs on his feet in the first game, getting point after point, and the game concluded 15-Win in favor of Delianni. She continued to keep him on his feet in the next game, and thanks to a netball and out, and despite an out of her own, she won the next game as well, Win-30. She played hard in the final game, until her victory in that game, with a winning score of 40-Win, securing victory, 0-3, in the first set for her.

Childs did better in the first game of the second set, as he won Win-30, despite a netball from his side. However, Delianni fought back and rapidly overpowered Childs, beating him Win-15. However, Childs won the third game, Win-30, and won the next 15-Win, winning the set 3-1.

The fate of the match hung in the balances as Childs and Delianni battled it out in the beginning of the third match. Delianni quickly gained more points than her opponent, and defeated him 15-Win, thanks to a decisive netball at the last moment. However, Childs turned it around in the next game and defeated Delianni, 15-Win.
With the help of an out by Childs, Delianni totally wiped him out in the third game, Love-Win. Childs defeated Delianni yet again in the fourth game, 15-Win. He also won the next one, after a long battle. The game was very heated, and included an advantage, net, and out, but in the end, Childs got the victory, Win-40. Delianni reversed it and got advantage over Childs, and defeated him Win-40 in the sixth game.
Childs won Win-15 over Delianni afterwards, but he wouldn't win the next few games, as Delianni, despite a netball, won Win-30 in the eighth, 15-Win in the ninth, and Win-30 in the final game, winning the set 4-6.

Olivia Delianni, having won two out of three sets, qualified to enter the second round, where she will play against Sally Potter of Sunrise. Simon Childs is now out of the competition, although his brother, Austen Childs, is still in the competition.

That's all for now. Come back tomorrow to see Cincinnati play Athens County. This is William White, signing off, and thank you for watching.

International Tennis League 9Cincinnati-FrasorvsAthensCounty-Thomas

William White wrote:Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the match between Tyler Frasor, from Cincinnati, and Percy Thomas, from Athens County. Let's get on with the report:

Thomas played well in the first game, but nevertheless, because of an unlucky outball, he lost the game Win-30 to Frasor. He fought even harder in the next one, and they passed the 40-mark with neither having won. They then deuced at 4-4, but a netball from Frasor broke the deuce and gave advantage to Thomas. He recovered though, deuced him 5-5, and went on to get advantage and win the game 5-Win. The game looked relataively promising for Thomas, with a 4-4 deuce, but he was foolhardy enough to try to return an obvious outball from his opponent, giving advantage to Frasor, who pressed it home, winning the game Win-4, and the set 3-0.

Frasor quickly won the first game of the second set 30-Win, although Thomas turned it on Frasor's head and won the next game 30-Win. It was going pretty equal in the third game, but a consecutive out and net from Thomas allowed Frasor to win 30-Win. Thomas again won 30-Win in the next game, and the fifth game was marked by a Frasor win, 30-Win. He then won the set 4-2 by rapidly defeating Thomas Win-15 in the final game.

Thomas did quite a bit better in the final set, with, thanks to Frasor hitting an out at the end of the game, a Win-30 in favor of Thomas. Frasor did win the next game Win-30, although it would be his only win in this set. Thomas, despite an out, got advantage and defeated Frasor Win-40 in the third game, and despite a netball in the next, again defeated Frasor 40-Win, winning the set 1-3.

Despite these spectacular wins by Percy Thomas in the final set, it wasn't enough, and he dropped out of the contest, meaning that Athens County dropped out of the ITL for this season as well, as he was the last Athenian in the contest. Tyler Frasor, on the other hand, is going into the second round of the contest, where there will be a fresh contestant to play against.

That's all for now. Come back on Saturday to see the Republican Kingdom of Grand and Belluterra play the United Kingdom of Cattala. This is William White, signing off, and thank you for watching.

International Tennis League 10Grand-PetersroyvsCattala-Valetto

William White wrote:Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the much-awaited game between the United Kingdom of Cattala and the Imperial Republican Kingdom of Grand, Belluterra, and Malo! The contestants were Christian Valetto, from Cattala, and the Crown Prince of Grand, Belluterra, and Malo, His Royal Highness Prince Imperial Luke Petersroy. We shall, in order to keep you from waiting, begin the report on this much-awaited match without further ado:

Prince Luke got an early lead in the game, but two sequential outs brought Valetto up to his level. It was a long battle after that, but Luke eventually got advantage and defeated Valetto Win-40. He also won the next game 30-Win, thanks to a netball by Valetto. His third win, again Win-30, ended the set 3-0.

Prince Luke continued his winning streak in the next set, with another win, 30-Win, but it was quickly ended by his opponent in the second game, when he got advantage and defeated the Crown Prince 40-Win. He defeated him again in the next game, again Win-40 with an advantage, and won the set with a fourth-game win of 30-Win in favor of Valetto, thus ending the set 1-3 with Valetto having won the set.

Prince Luke managed to get him back in the next game, as he got advantage and defeated his opponent 40-Win. The next game, however, would not be so easy, as they both played really hard, and got deuces, with their accompanying advantages, at 4-4, 5-5, 6-6, 7-7, 8-8, and 9-9, not to mention a netball from each side. Valetto then, obviously exhausted from the 30-minute game, hit two netballs in a row, ending the game Win-9 in favor of Petersroy, and concluding the longest single game in the history of the ITL.
Both were exhausted as they entered the third game of the set, but eventually Luke got advantage and defeated Valetto 40-Win, ending the set with a score of 3-0 in favor of Valetto.

Thanks to the game, which was played quite well by both sides, Grand wasn't kicked out of the ITL for the season, this time around. However, Christian Valleto, and Cattala, are out for the rest of the season, although they will most likely return for the next one. Prince Luke Petersroy will advance into the second round, where he will play Tyler Frasor from Cincinnati.

That's all for now. Come back on Saturday to see Louisville play Andover. This is William White, signing off, and thank you for watching.

International Tennis League 11Louisville-ChildsvsAndover-Satterburn

William White wrote:Hello, and welcome back to WSN news! Today we present the match between Austen Childs, from Louisville, and Hans Satterburn, from Andover. Let's proceed:

The match started out well for Childs, as he quickly defeated Satterburn in the first game Win-30. After a long game that saw advantages by both sides, a netball from Childs, and deuces at 4-4 and 5-5, the next game concluded 5-Win in favor of Childs. He again got advantage in the third game and defeated Satterburn Win-40, ending the set with a 3-0 score in favor of Childs.

The next set had a better lookout for Satterburn, despite faulting, and then double faulting, right at the very start, giving a point to Childs. He also hit a netball, but nevertheless, he still won the game Win-30. However, Childs won the next game thanks to an unlucky netball from Satterburn, ending the game Win-4 in favor of Childs. He also won the next one 30-Win, despite a netball of his own. Despite an out late in the game, he was able to recover, made a complete comeback, and won the game Win-40, ending the set 3-1 in favor of Childs.

Childs just cruised his way through the final set, winning the first two games of the set 30-Win and Win-30, and the final game of the match 15-Win, thanks to two netballs by Satterburn, ending the set with a Childs win, 3-0.

Thus, Austen Childs is now advancing to the second round. He has also tied his brother Simon for 15th place in the ITL rankings. Hans Satterburn, on the other hand, has left the ITL for the rest of the season, also ending Andover's participation in the league for the season. He is ranked last on the ITL Rankings list.

International Tennis League 12Belluterra-SmithvsSyldavia-Solev

[quote="William White"]Hello hello! Good to see you all back! Today, we present the match between John Smith, of the Autonomous Presidential Republic of Belluterra, and Alex Solev, of the Republic of Syldavia. Without any further ceremony, the match:

The first game started off good for Solev, as Smith quickly hit an outball, giving him a point. He then proceeded to 40 before Smith made a huge comeback, got advantage, and defeated him Win-40. Solev did win the next game, thanks to two sequential netballs by Smith, ending the game Win-40. Smith, however, won the next game Win-30, and, despite touching with his racket an outball from Solev, and also hitting a netball, and partly thanks to a netball from Solev, he also won the next game 30-Win, ending the set 3-1.

In the next set, Smith quickly got advantage over Solev, and, thanks to a final outball from him, won the game Win-40. Smith double-faulted in the next game, however, setting the stage for an extremely heated game. At one point Smith almost lost, and had it not been for the fact that the ball brushed the net as it passed, he would have lost the game. As it turned out, he won the game 5-Win. Smith, despite an outball, got advantage and won the next game Win-40, ending the set 3-0.

In the final set, Smith hit two netballs consecutively, but he quickly made up for that and won the game 30-Win. He also won the next game Win-4, after a heated game in which an outball was hit by both sides. Smith finally defeated Solev in the final game of the final set of the match, thus winning game, set, and match 15-Win, 3-0, and 3-0, respectively.

Thus, John Smith advances into the second round, where he will play Austen Childs from Louisville.

International Tennis League 13Sunrise-JonesvsNuevoRico-Sweet

William White wrote:Hello again! Today, we present the much awaited match between Ed Jones, from the Sunrise Empire, and Keen Sweet, from the Federal Republic of Nuevo Rico. This match has been eagerly awaited by many, because they are the highest-ranked players in their respective countries. Without keeping you waiting any longer, since I'm sure you're one of those who have eagerly awaited this day, here we go; the match!

The contest started out sweet for Sweet, as he rapidly sterted gaining points. He soon had defeated Jones Win-30, despite an outball late in the game. The next game was extremely heated, and saw advantages on both sides, and deuces at 4-4 and 5-5. However, an unlucky stumble by Sweet caused him to hit the net, giving Jones the victory, Win-5. He turned the tables, however, in the next game, and, despite an outball, used Jones' outball to gain advantage, and got the victory Win-5. In the fourth game, Sweet quickly gained advantage and won 40-Win, ending the set 1-3 in favor of himself.

Jones got a good head start in the first game of the second set, but it was all but nullified by a quick comeback by Sweet, despite two netballs. Nevertheless, Jones still won the game, 4-Win. He was a little more unfortunate in the next game, losing 30-Win, but he got his luck back in the third game, winning 40-Win, after a heated battle that involved two netballs and an outball. Sweet won again, 40-Win, in the game after that, but, despite a netball from Jones, he lost the fifth game 4-Win.
The sixth game wasn't that impressive, despite an outball from Jones and a netball from Sweet. The game concluded 30-Win in favor of Sweet. The next game was heavily fought, and eventually ended with a Sweet win, Win-4. The game after that was one of the longest single games in the short history of the ITL, lasting nearly 45 minutes. It eventually ended when Sweet hit an outball, giving the victory to Jones, 5-Win. As evening approached, the game looked as if it would become the first ITL game to span more than one day. Sweet won the ninth game, Win-30, and after another hard-fought game, won the tenth one 5-Win, also ending the set 4-6 in favor of himself.

That's all for now. Come back on Saturday to see the conclusion of this memorable match between the Sunrise Empire and the Federal Republic of Nuevo Rico. This is William White, signing off, and thank you for watching.

International Tennis League 13Sunrise-JonesvsNuevoRico-Sweet

William White wrote:Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the final set of the longest match in ITL history, between Ed Jones, from the Sunrise Empire, and Keen Sweet, from the Federal Republic of Nuevo Rico. Without any further unnessecary suspense, the set:

The final set started good for Jones, and thanks to an outball from Sweet, he breezed his way to advantage and to victory, 4-Win, in the first game. He also won the next game, Win-15. He lost to Sweet, however, in the third one, after a long battle that included advantage and an outball. The game concluded Win-40, in favor of Sweet. Sweet also won the next, 15-Win, but lost the fifth, 15-Win. He won the one after that, 30-Win, however, but lost the seventh game, 6-Win, partly because of a ball that went too low, producing a netball, and also in the eighth and final game of the set, again Win-6, despite an outball from Jones. Thus, Jones won the third set, ending the longest game in ITL

Despite this victory, Ed Jones didn't win the first two sets, thus setting the stage for Keen Sweet to enter the second round. However, Ed Jones, because of his excellent skill in tennis, which probably would have granted him success, had he been pitted against a different player, is now the #2 player in the ITL by a substantial margin, while his opponent, Keen Sweet, is now the #1 player in the entire SimTennis world, by an amazing 14-dot margin. It remains to be seen, however, if he will be able to mantain this status against the likes of Fernando Salazar and Tahirudin Kasim.

That's all for now. Come back tomorrow to see the Autonomous Presidential Republic of Belluterra play the Republic of Karasem. This is William White, signing off, and thank you for watching.

International Tennis League 14Belluterra-HaroldvsKarasem-Saifudin

William White wrote:Good evening folks! As usual, we shall now turn to tennis, and more specifically, the match between Li Na, of the People's Republic of China, and Francesca Schiavone, of the Republic of Italy... oops, I meant between Phil Harold, of the Autonomous Presidential Republic of Belluterra, and Agus Saifudin, of the Republic of Karasem.

The match started out very good for Harold, as he quickly breezed his way to a Win-30 victory in the first game. He lost the next game Win-40 to Saifudin, thanks to 3 consecutive netballs. However, he struck back with a Win-15 win in the third game, and he won the set 3-1 when he won the fourth one 30-Win.

Saifudin found his luck in the second set, as he, despite an outball, and an aggressive play by Harold, got advantage and won the game Win-4. Despite a 3 netballs, he again gained advantage and won the next one 4-Win, partly thanks to a final outball from Harold. Harold, however, won the third game of the set, after an extremely long game that saw a netball, an advantage on both sides, and a deuce at 4-4 and 5-5. The game concluded 5-Win in favor on Harold. Harold again got advantage and won Win-40 in the fifth game, despite an outball. However, Saifudin fought back hard, deuced, got advantage, and won the sixth game Win-6. Thanks to a netball from Harold, he also won the final game of the set 6-Win, ending the set 4-2 in favor of Saifudin.

Harold played well in the first game of the third set, but, despite an outball from Saifudin, lost 5-Win. He played totally lousy after that, as he lost the second game Win-15, and the third game 30-Win, ending the set 0-3 in favor of Saifudin.

Thus, Agus Saifudin won the game, set, and match, and advances into the second round, where he will play the best player in the International Tennis League, Keen Sweet of the Federal Republic of Nuevo Rico. Phill Harold dropped out of the contest, and will not return to the ITL, as Belluterra pulls out of the ITL after this.

International Tennis League 1Syldavia-SaltvsInsulo-Salazar

William White wrote:Well well well! Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the presentation of the first match of the Round of 16 in the ITL, between Mikhael Salt, of the Republic of Syldavia, and Fernando Salazar, from the Republic of Insulo. 20-year-old Salazar, the heavily favored contestant, due to his excellent record in the LTE and now in the ITL, emerged tonight to a huge crowd, which was largely composed of Grandian Ensunans and Insulonians. Anyways, enough about the opening:

The match started off quite well for Salt, as, despite a well-played play by Salazar, he soon gained advantage and defeated him Win-40. However, Salazar fought back, and after a long second game, which included a netball from both sides, advantages on both sides, and 4-4 and 5-5 deuce, he beat Salt Win-5. He quickly won the third game 30-Win and the fourth Win-15, ending the set 1-3 in favor of Salazar.

The next set also began luckily for Salt, as he quickly won the first game 30-Win, thanks to an unlucky outball from Salazar. Salazar, however, again defeated Salt in the second game, this time quite rapidly, as he won 15-Win. Despite two netballs in the game after that, resulting in two deuces, Salazar eventually gained advantage and wod Win-5. Thanks to an outball from Salt, he gained advantage again, and again won the game after that, meaning that he won the second set 1-3 as well.

The final set was terrible for Salt, as he lost the first game 15-Win within less than 10 minutes. He came close to winning in the second game, when he had advantage 4-5 over Salazar, but then Salazar struck back and within 5 minutes, thanks to a hasty outball from Salt, he had won the game Win-5. He, despite an outball and a netball, won the third game 30-Win, the third set 0-3, and the match 0-3. Thus, Fernando Salazar, the Tennis Star of Insulo, rises into the Quarterfinals of the ITL, while Mikhael Salt is out for the rest of the season.

That's all for now. Come back tomorrow to see Linktoria play the Federal Republic of Nuevo Rico. This is William White, signing off, and thank you for watching.

International Tennis League 2Linktoria-OwensvsNuevoRico-Valas

William White wrote:Hi there everybody! Today, we present the match between Eric Owens, of Linktoria, and Red Valas, of the Federal Republic of Nuevo Rico. The match, which was scheduled for yesterday, was canceled to to bad weather, and took place today instead. Here we go, with the presentation:

Valas quickly gained advantage in the first game of the first set, despite Owens fighting back hard, deucing him 4-4. Nevertheless, thanks to a netball from Owens, Valas defeated him 4-Win. However, Owens got back at him, and despite an outball from Valas that he touched with his racket, he gained advantage and won the game 40-Win. He totally wiped out Valas in the next game Win-Love. Nevertheless, Valas defeated him again, Win-40, in the fourth game, despite an outball, and partially thanks to two netballs from Owens, which gave him advantage and won the game for him, respectively. Owens quickly won the next one Win-30 though, and finally defeated Valas 15-Win in the sixth game, also winning the set 4-2.

The first set of the next game lasted for over 20 minutes, with multiple advantages on both sides, and deuces at 4-4, 5-5, 6-6, 7-7, 8-8, and 9-9, but eventually Valas struck lucky and beat Owens Win-9. Owens, however, beat Valas Win-4 in the next game, despite a netball early in the game, which helped Valas to get advantage and nearly win. He also beat Valas 15-Win in the next game, but, after a really long fourth game, and despite 3 netballs from Valas, lost to Valas 7-Win, having deuced at 4-4, 5-5, 6-6, and 7-7. In the fifth game both sides quickly scored netballs, but nevertheless, Owens overcame this and defeated Valas 15-Win. In the sixth and final game of the second set, Owens reversed the conditions of the fourth game of the set, gained advantage, and defeated Valas, Win-7, ending the set 4-2 in favor of Owens.

The third, and final, set of the game had a long opening game, as did all the sets in this particular match. For a while the two opponents were just trading advantages and deuces, but eventually Owens beat Valas Win-6. The next game was a disaster for him, however, as, thanks to an outball, a netball, and a rare double fault, Valas quickly gained advantage and beat him Win-40. Owens got his revenge in the third game, when, despite a netball from his side, Valas struck 2 netballs, helping him in his eventual gaining of advantage and beating Valas Win-5.

Eric Owens, in the fourth game of the set, soon beat Red Valas, winning game, set, and match 5-Win, 3-1, and 3-0 respectively. Thus, Valas rises high above Salazar to become the #1 player in the ITL for now. Red Valas, despite losing, and leaving the tournament for the rest of the season, is still ranked #2 in the ITL, tied with Insulonian tennis star Fernando Salazar, who Eric Owens will be playing in the quarterfinals.

That's all for now. Come back on Saturday to see the Democratic Republic of Martopia play the Republic of Karasem. This is William White, signing off, and thank you for watching.
