I have a question (in fact, 2). Does my territory needs to follow the actual borders? And the continent where is located influences my country culture? (i.e. , Can I- have an "Oriental" country in East Althena or Itzamna?)

You do not have to follow exact borders, feel free to modify them to fit your needs! The link to the map is in my signature, but here is our Asia:

There are also Asian-based cultures/countries in those islands North of Althena. Those are more based on the islands of Southeast Asia.
