Folland military cargo plane from Malo crashes in Eastern Sinope

By Stamatia Floros

BRAAVOS - A Folland Air Force cargo plane identified as #50EF3, transporting two Follandan main battle tanks, has crashed in Eastern Sinope, near the village of Eptachori. The plane's crew used S.O.S. radio frequencies before breaching Sinopian air space. The Sinopian Air Force responded immediately, according to the Ministry of Defense, giving indications to the cargo plane where to perform an emergency landing. However, due to what is suspected to be mechanical malfunction in the cargo plane, the Follandan pilot had to land in-extremist their aircraft into a wheat field not far from Eptachori. A Sinopian Aeolus Su-27 was escorting the cargo plane, until it land/crashed. Sinopian military personnel arrived on the crash site around 15 mins after residents reported on the internet and posted videos of the plane crash. The catastrophe resulted in the death of the pilot, and injuries for a few crew members. No citizens on soil were harmed during the crash.

Three Follandan crew members were transported to the nearest hospital in Kivotos, and they currently are in stable condition, their lives are not to be worried for. YAK agents are currently investing the crash site, with the plane's black box being analyzed. The two Follandan IFV battle tanks were not damaged and were escorted to the Lidoriki Air Force Base. Doge Diogenes has commented on the issue, stating that "this incident is unfortunate, but we have avoided the worst. I want to bring my deepest condolences to the family and friends of the pilot. He managed to save the whole crew. As to why this military plane has seem to malfunction and had to land in catastrophe in Sinope, the Ministry of State Security as well as the Ministry of Defense will investigate this matter."

As of the remaining crew members, those who are not in hospital, they have been offered hotel rooms in Braavos and discounts on reputed drug cafés, brothels, bars, nightclubs and other famous nightlife events for their leisure. They are set to return to Folland through Calibria with their heavy cargo in a few days, while the injured crew members will remain in Sinope until they recover. "Tall men speaking in their funny language kept screaming something like 'dale κιιλ υσς', but I didn't undestand." Reported 13-year-old witness Melina Areleous. Melina was one of the few children in the area who ran to the plane crash to see what happened, before the Sinopian military came and set a security perimeter.

Very thankful and pleasantly surprised to hear that our servicemen are being well cared for by the Sinopian government. We would like to provide any assistance needed to help determine what caused this tragic incident and again give out thanks to Sinope for caring for the victims and our hardware.

Honestly I had thought Sinope would go about this in a much more tense fashion, but it's nice to see that we finally have an olive branch to use in an effort to restart relations.

Euphemian 13 Summit: A "joke", says Bourgault in Fraesia

The Braavos Globe - Page 5 Philippe-Poutou
Pierre Bourgault at a party rally in Fraesia City

By Stamatia Floros

BRAAVOS - The Mouvement Fraesien is gaining more and more importance in Fraesia while Euphemian leaders gather in the first Euphemian 13 Summit, held in Folland. Fraesia and Acadia surprisingly responded positively to the invitation of Folland for a meeting to discuss a wide variety of issues, including the Fraesian conflict, legacy of the Dead War.

Fraesia, represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tristan Martel, declared that "Fraesia is a sovereign state, and a violation of that integrity is condemnable. But Folland respected our requests and international requests to stop at once the occupation, and of that, we are grateful, as an escalation of that conflict could have prompted into a bloodshed."

Gerry Bennan, the Follandan Secretary of the Republic, showed that Folland was still suspicious of Fraesia, verbally pressuring Martel into revealing if Fraesia had any documents that were a threat to the national security of Folland. "No sensitive information concerning the national security of the Follandan Republic is being held by the Fraesian government." Martel said, twice.

The main opposition in Fraesia, the Fraesian Movement (MF) has conducted a protest in the country's capital, to oppose the summit and the current Fraesian "puppet" government. "The Fraesian government acts as an Acadian puppet and it must end here. The Follandan Republic should be prosecuted for their crime against Fraesia and their violation of international law. If elected, we intend to bring the whole Fraesian conflict to justice." Declared their leader, Pierre Bourgault.

"The Fraesian people shall rise and oppose neo-imperialist forces that try to bent us and break us. While the Fraesian people suffer from political impotence with leaders such as ours, it is time to chose the right path! Chose the Fraesian Movement!" He added.
The lack of comments from Acadia, however, leads us to believe that the summit is nothing more than diplomatic formality and that the Fraesian issue isn't really of Acadia's concerns.

"That summit is a joke. If they want to speak diplomacy, then do it on the phone. There's no need to do a show at one place, to see how 'great' relations are, when they're not. Euphemia is a divided continent. But it's united in one thing, and that is cupidity." Shouted Bourgault in a crowd full of Fraesian Movement supporters. The Patriot era flag was flying in the crowd, dismissing the pre-Dead War flag and the current flag.

With the upcoming Fraesian general election held in one week, the current government's Liberal party is slightly at lead in polls, but the Fraesian Movement is gaining grounds, especially in urban and deep rural areas. Doge Diogenes has commented in an out-of-context question this week during a press conference, about the situation in Fraesia. "It is up to the Fraesian government to bring up an international lawsuit, if they want it. As of the upcoming election, I think a Fraesian Movement government would improve relations between Fraesia and Sinope, as we share similar views on many policies, especially foreign." Diogenes declared.

No Euphemian countries have commented yet on the ungoing campaigning in Fraesia, but there are already knives flying under tables between candidates, as a Liberal party politician was attacked in the street and labelled as traitor. On the other hand, an outspoken Fraesian Movement candidate was threatened on Twitter with rape threats. Political leaders have condemned such attacks. If elected, the Fraesian Movement has declared in its programme, that it would hold a constituent assembly to draft a new constitution.

Yeah, it is a bit of a joke isn't it.

You'd think Folland would be placing more interest in these elections that I've only heard of just now. >_>

Kariko Republic: Calibria and Sinope to start negotiations with the Karikos as more nations recognize the breakaway territory

The Braavos Globe - Page 5 8SxG9
The Sinope Aegean Fleet has now been stationned in Naxos, Kariko, since last night.

By Stamatia Floros

BRAAVOS - With more and more nations recognizing the Kariko Republic on the current cease-fire line established Saturday, the Kariko conflict is leading to serious negotiations between Sinope and Calibria as well as the newly formed Kariko Republic and the Carico Autonomous Territory. With Bruellen's, Teiko's and Batavia's recent recognition Saturday and Sunday, Calibria has put an hold on its Carico Plan to revoke recognizing countries' ambassadors back to Cecina. Instead, under Sinope's pressure, Calibria has agreed to start negotiations.

The negotiations will begin on Tuesday in Torshia, the virtual Adonian capital. With many international organizations' head offices located in this principality in the middle of the Atlas Mountains, including the Adonian Community's headquarters, Torshia has since the Great Adonian War been considered as the most neutral nation on Adonia and has been the place of several negotiation processes. As the Third Kariko War ended in a status quo ante bellum, the upcoming negotiations are the most recent serious negotiations concerning Kariko since the ones initiated by Doge Theon in the late 1920s. The negotiations started in 1927 to end abruptly with Doge Theon's assassination in 1928.

If the negotiations were to end up successfully with an agreement on both sides, it could be the end of a territorial dispute that has lasted for centuries. Despite their uneasy relations over Kariko, Sinope and Calibria are still economically bond to each other, Calibria being Sinope's fourth largest trading partner, just ahead of Matinenda. Calibria's associate membership of the Alcadean Union and thus it being part of the AU single market, makes it an important Sinopian economic partner and that despite the centuries, or rather millennia old difficult relationships between both nations.

Kariko negotiations: Day 2 Live Report

The Braavos Globe - Page 5 8Vf6y
Doge Diogenes cracks a smile on Minister Antonescu's face as he shakes hands with Chancellor Samuelé

By Stamatia Floros

TORSHIA - Day 2 of the negotiations between Calibria and the Autonomous Territory of Carico on one side, and the breakaway Kariko Republic and the Sinope Republic on the other on the future of the Kariko conflict. Leaders of each entity will discuss about the possibility of partition. Lord Mihalis Kokinos said earlier there would be two items on the agenda of the morning session: possibility of a partition of Kariko and the co-existence of two governments in Kariko.

He said the partition possibility had been acquiring a new dimension and acuteness. "It could mean a lasting peace and solution to the whole conflict," Kokinos said. The Braavos Globe will fill you in with live updates. Refresh your browser or webpage to see the new updates.

Laurentius Antonescu says that Kariko is undeniably a matter between Sinopians and Calibrians but that the region formed its own people and cultures, with two people clashing on the lands, creating the Kariko conflict. Second, the establishment of more autonomy for the Kariko-Sinopians inside an Autonomous Territory of Carico or outside, if the people decide so. Third, the mutual recognition of undeniable and sovereign territorial integrity by both Sinope and Calibria to end the oldest border dispute in history.

Calibria and Sinope have agreed a deal on partitioning Kariko, according to a story filed by Reuters. Chancellor Samuelé and Doge Diogenes said they would sign an agreement on using ethnic lines to make new borders and establish a treaty for unlimited naval passing rights on the Kariko strait that Sinope would now control. Samuelé and Diogenes met privately at the Kariko negotiations to work together for a lasting solution to the Kariko conflict. "I think it is an example of the kind of constructive, cooperative relationship that moves us out of a Great Adonian War mindset," Samuelé said after meeting with Diogenes.
