Observership has been a topic of discussion for the past few weeks. We have debated and the poll shows that USNW members wish to scrap Observership all-together. I agree with this stance due to people on the fence and becoming full-fledged members at another union while becoming an observer here (I am guilty of this in the past, but I understand now that it was not the right thing to do). USNW isn't taken as seriously due to Observerships, but I feel with some work we could definitely change that. Current Observers will be given a week to decide whether to become a Ambassadorial/Full Member after the bill is passed, and those who fail to do so will be kicked out along with inactive members during the Member Checkpoint to be held a week after the bill has passed. This is the first step to the recovery of USNW, are you ready for this?

Thank you Jon for starting this debate.

I support this, as long as we inform our more active current Observers of the new law. Razz

I agree but lets give our most active observers say a month to apply? I personally know how hard it is to apply while balancing RL obligations. All in All I am for it 100%

Can we allow observers from unions that allow observers? Razz

I guess I'm fine with this, but I don't want to lose FailWill or Forth.

I'd say keep it at a week. If someone needs more time, they should PM me then I give them a month. We really need a member checkpoint asap. Razz

I'd like Jack's suggestions to be added to the proposal, personally. Very Happy

Maybe rather than have them apply offer them an automatic upgrade. They'd have to apply anyway if they were kicked out, so it's not really any different. Razz

Daniel: I was hoping to get rid of Observership completely.
Jon: That could work too.

Meh, I support this, but I kind of like the automatic offer, since they have been in the union long enough.
