Project: Closer View

...is a Joint Agency endeavor to explore the moons of Adonia further in depth in an attempt to ascertain their dispositions and discover any new and or unknown materials.

This project will consist of two phases with several steps in each. The first major phase in Project Closer View is the analysis of Imera, Adonia's largest moon. This will take at least 10 days for the probe(s) to make it to Imera which they will examine the surface from orbit for a week before making their return trip back to Adonia where the footage, imagery, and scans will be analyzed. The second probe(s) will be launched for Adonia's asteroid moon, Myrrha. This one is far more interesting since the Asteroid moon is an extrasolar capture, and thus could contain ore of an unknown nature not native to Adonia's system. The time frame of this Phase will be roughly the same as the Imera Phase.

Space Agencies Currently Active in the Project:

  • National Space Exploration Administration of Folland (NSEAF)
  • Marqualis Space Agency (MSA)
  • Exploration for Extraterrestial Mineral Acquisition (EEMA)
  • Paradise National Space Administration (PNSA)
  • Okaiken Space Exploration Agency (OSXA)
  • Royal Aeronautics and Space Administration (RASA)

The Paradise National Space Administration (PNSA) is intrigued. We're in.

Several National agencies and administrations have joined the project, and adequate funding has been achieved from such. The probes will be manufactured in Folland using materials from Folland and Marqualis, and the probes will be shipped to Paradise for launch, due to the nation's close proximity to the Equator.

Launch date for the Imera 1 probe will take place on Saturday, November 24th. Flight control will be handled by the Paradise National Space Administration. Systems and Sensory date feeds will be analyzed by the Marqualis and Folland administrations.

Again the Nilian automobile firm, Haroyashi, are requesting that they help with the propulsion needed to get the mission skyward. Nilia will also allow the use of their phycisists at our disposure right now (amid the war). We look forward for the interest with space to start getting important again.

The PNSA will prepare the launch site.

(Great, I have to make a launch site XD I suppose it had to happen eventually. Anyone have any suggestions for lots to use?)

EEMA and the MSA would like to send scientist and engineers both to Folland to assist in building the probes and to paradise to help with launch control as well.

The Okaiken Space Exploration Agency (OSXA) would like to provide the navigation and computer equipment for the aircraft. As an addition, OSXA would like to provide the probe with Water Vapour Analyser (WAVAR), a device that checks water on the surface using thermodynamic and water vapour technology.

Closer View: Phase 1

Imera 1, having been launched a day ago has reached Orbit around Imera and has begun it's series of photography and sensory scans. The first images have already been sent to control centers in Folland and Marqualis, showing pictures of the seemingly desolate surface. The probe will orbit Imera for several weeks, scanning several sectors of the moon.

Imera 2, the probe destined for the Asteroid moon of Adonia is scheduled to launch after Imera 1 completes it's mission.

It's mission is several weeks, while it's existence is for however long i feel like it. Razz Gotta keep things relatively short because of our roleplay attention spans. By the way if any of you have something incredibly awesome to add to this venture, be my guest, I don't want to be pulling all this out of my ass myself.

How about we add an icecap like that of mars! also we can seend soom rovers and detectors to land on the moon to do soil samples and map out the interior for future "exploration" ahem... Razz

The twin probes Grand'd like to be scheduled for sometime this summer, Imera 3 and Imera 4 (it's recycling the vehicles it was building about a decade ago before they were cancelled to speed up production), can handle the rovers - I hear there's some ice around the poles, along with places eternally bathed by sunlight. Razz

Imeras 5 through 8 might be able to handle sample-return missions and the like. Smile

So now that Grand has come to the table, we're adding 6 more probes to the Project, including surface rovers. Hoorah for Emperor Dan!

Marqualis would also like to manufacture rovers as well equipped with sonar and other instruments to gather data on mineral content as well as mapping out the interior

The Insulonian National Space Exploration and Research Administraion (INSPERA) would be willing to contribute, with a particular focus on the Asteroid moon. INSPERA has been developing technologies to prepare for future missions to examine Asteroids and would be willing to contribute these to the examination of the moon. INSPERA also has two launch sites, one in Northern Insulo and another on the island of La Palma, which is the primary INSPERA launch site. INSPERA also has a large facility on the island (South Shore Research Facility) for the construction of launch vehicles and other equipment.

The Imperial Federal Kingdom of Grand, Belluterra, and Malo's Royal Aeronautics and Space Association (RASA) would like to work together with Marqualis on improving, updating, and finishing the twin Imera 3 and Imera 4 rovers, and is looking forward to adding some of the new foreign-made equipment to the machines.

We are also looking forward to future exploration of the asteroid moon Myrrha, and are offering our spacelaunch sites in Malo and Grand (both located quite near to the equator) for the Ministry to use.

Marqualis accepts the offer from the Imperial Federal Kingdom of Grand, Belluterra, and Malo's Royal Aeronautics and Space Association (RASA) and will be sending the equipment as well as scientists and engineers to the country at the discretion of the Kingdom. Marqualis would also like to talk to the countries involved about a possible human mission towards the moons.

The Imperial Federal Kingdom would like to suggest Myrrha as the primary target for a manned landing, seeing as it has a lower gravity and escape velocity. As there is also the likelihood of it being an interplanetary, or possibly even an extrasolar, capture, the scientific interest in it should be doubled.

(Just to point out, maybe you could add the names for my space agency (RASA, for Royal Aeronautics and Space Administration) and for the asteroid moon, Myrrha. Smile

Also, the 8.5-hour trip to the real-life Moon - made by the New Horizons probe in early 2006 - was specifically meant as an extrasolar mission intended to study Pluto and beyond, and was still accelerating by the time it passed the Moon (going at a speed of around 58,000 km/h while passing by). Moon-specific missions' travel time lasts anywhere from the most fuel-efficient ones, taking a little over a year (ESA's SMART-1, launched in late 2003), to five days (CNSA's Chang'e 1, launched in late 2007), to the least fuel-efficient ones, taking a little over three days (most of the manned Apollo Lunar missions). There's also the first Lunar probe ever launched - the USSR's Luna 1 - which took 1.5 days to reach the moon, whizzing past and taking a few measurements before entering a permanent orbit around the sun. Wink

So...maybe you should change that bit as well. Razz)
