Welcome everyone to the 2014 Winter Chancellor Elections. I am Kristen Allen, ambassador from Trentannia, and your Elections Commission for this election. We welcome everyone to these proceedings. We will try to make these elections as smooth as possible.
First, we would like to welcome all of the member states to these proceedings and we would ask that each nation introduce its senior ambassador below. Each nation is allowed up to 5 ambassadors; however, only one should be introduced as the senior ambassador. Each delegation gets one vote when we get to the elections. Delegations from each nation will be allowed to nominate their choice (1) for the office. Nominees should be chosen from the ambassadors who are introduced below. Ambassadors, if you could, please introduce yourself and include some basic information for us so we may all get acquainted.
Elections will begin with this introduction, we will allow enough time (two days OOC) for each nation to introduce their delegation. If the delegations are not present at this introduction, their ambassadors will not be available for nomination. Following these introductions, we will begin the nomination process. Again, one nomination per nation's delegation. For example, Trentannia will choose the ambassador it would like to see elected as Chancellor. Nations may nominate their own ambassadors. We will allow ample time for nominations (two days OOC), following nominations we will meet privately with the candidates and make sure they are willing to run. A short campaign will take place (one week OOC) and then we will vote.
Thank you.
Introductions close on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 10:00 PM GMT-6.
Nominations begin as soon as there is an ambassador to nominate, unless a nation chooses to wait for all introductions. Nominations close Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 10:00 PM GMT-6. Nominees may begin to campaign as soon as they accept their nomination, campaigns close Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 10:00 PM GMT-6. There may or may not be debates. Polls will open Friday, January 24, 2014 and will be open for two days until Sunday, January 26, 2014. The winner shall be whichever delegate receives the majority of the votes.
