List of Disasters

As you have probably seen on the Wiki, I am compiling all of the disasters that have struck Adonia. I would like to expand on this already large list so can I have some major disasters of your countries please =P http://usnw.wikkii.com/wiki/List_of_Disasters_by_Death_Toll
All you need to do is post below when it happened, what it was, how many died and any side notes you want to include.

1903: The LRSL (Loftindorian Royal Steam Liner) Koderstad hit a small rocky island about 300 miles off the coast of Insulo which was not evaded because of the dark night, and lack of communication between the crew. The Koderstad hit the rock, which ripped the ships hull at approximately 1:12 AM and the ship sank at 2:45AM. The 612 casualties out of about 1,900 was due to the lack of lifeboats and the amount of "hysteria" on board the ship.

Extra Info:
The Koderstad's final voyage was from Darmouth, Loftindor to Matinenda, Shayden (If that's ok with you Kurt).

Utrovair Disaster.

A crash between two jumbo jets that occured in midair over the Fovazh Mountains, both Utrovair's.
Date: December 9th, 1983
Death Toll: 644

Esc.: The Adonian Titanic was Utrovan, I'm sorry you didn't know previously, but it didn't sink and is still here.

1957: Toya Maru
It was a Sanese train ferry constructed by the Okaiken National Railways which sank during a typhoon in the Halcon - Yagi Strait on September 23, 1957. It is said that 1,153 people aboard were killed in the accident.

I'd be willing to take the space race

It was New Friscia who put the first human in space, so I'd say they were a major participant in the space race too.

A couple of Grandian and Malonese disasters are coming soon, just need to get dates correct.

androidboi has New Friscia, but since he's on-leave at the moment, I'd personally prefer not to give his nation any major disasters without his approval.

May 30th, 1901: St. Stanisburg Tradegy - A rumor that the Tsar will give the crowd listening to his speech free gingerbread and sweets spreads and is proen false, leading into a large panic which lead to a stampede, killing 2,235 people.

722 nah 543 is a good number for St Michaels, October 6, 1980, Actually took place at St. Michaels Airport, which is an island (didn't make that clear ). Reasons for incident were poor Air Traffic Control Standards, Excessive Fog and a malfunctioning early GPS system were to blame.
