Crises in Fraesia
Today, in an unprecedented move, the Marqualis government has approved a major battle group to head to Fraesia to assist with Acadian forces in maintaining peace in the troubled nation. This follows the departure of foreign delegates who are overseeing the formation of a new government. The delegates, as well as the army and navy are to remain in Fraesia until the nation has stabilized though no forces are to engage unless engaged upon.
The fleet in question is composed of two Titan class Aircraft Carriers as well as four Titan class battleships with numerous other vessels for a total combined fleet of 25 ships and over 20,000 sailors. The government has sent 40,000 troops as well in transport carriers. The delegates however were flown in to the capital. More on this as it develops.
Election Central
A vote of no-confidence has been called in parliament hill triggering elections. This comes just days before a new government initiative to dismantle Marqualis's Nuclear arsenal. Officials are saying that this bill would breach the constitutional right of the country and would cost billions of dollars. The vote was cast by opposition leader Frank Cellious, head of the Socialist party.
The elections will begin next week, with candidates given only 2 weeks to campaign before the final days and the new prime minister announced. Ibrahim, leader of Republican party is a strong candidate to win this election, being newly elected as head of the party. The three candidates are set to battle it out in the coming weeks for voters. As usual, all people capable of voting, will be required to.
New Science Project
The Marqualis Scientific Community of Physics (MSCP) has recently applied for a grant from the government to build a high energy collider. The project in question is estimated to cost 100 billion pounds and will require 1 terawatt of electricity. The facility would be able to accelerate particles to 99.9999999999 percent the speed of light and collide inside state of the art detectors. The scientific community would also like a separate power source as to not strain civilian plants and cause nation wide power outages. Scientist would also like the government to connect with other scientific communities so that results can be shared. The government has yet to comment.
We asked several civilians on the request made by MSCP and these are the responses received.

I don't like it at all. I think the government should say no and not allow it to be brought up anymore. This is dangerous and I don't want to live in a country that is dangerous. If the government was smart, they would say no!
I like the idea, I mean the government should fund things liks this that will benefit all of mankind rather than destroy it. Scientist are just trying to learn more about the universe around us and I think that they should have that chance to. This would help make a better and brighter future for our children.
