President Johnson Delivers Speech and Holds Press ConferenceIn response to the international tension over the occupation of Fraesia, president Johnson has delivered a speech to the international community in Francistown today, and answered questions that the press had to ask.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen of the United Sovereign Nations of the World. I would like to begin today by telling you about a Fraesian man named Raymond Dubeau. Raymond was born in Oxford, Fraesia, in 1986. Living most of his life under Varcame's rule, he never knew the true meaning of freedom. In school, he was educated about the Acadian annexation of New Fraesia. He was told that the Acadians were "thieves", and stole the land that still belong to Fraesia. In his later life, he learned about how the East Fraesians succeeded from Posilliponian Fraesia for one reason: freedom. When the war started, he was among many of the protesters in Oxford demanding peace and justice. And now, Freedom is what he is getting.
I would like to address the confusion that many of Acadia's fellow union members have about the occupation. First, I would like to inform everyone that each and every man in Fraesia truly has his freedom. Even the former supporters of the Varcame government have been granted immunity, and live freely among the other Fraesians. All Fraesian citizens 18 years of age or older can now have a say in their own government. They can finally have the sense of democracy in their homeland that they've only dreamt of for years. Delegates from every corner of Fraesia have come to Fraesia City to write the new constitution; spelling out their freedom. The men and women of Fraesia will be voting at the polls on November 1st, deciding who
they want in the government. They can rest assured that no one will attempt to seize power of Fraesia once again, as long as the international troops protect their new freedoms. They can return to their hometown, no-longer in ruins, and be free to leave and pursue new opportunities.
I ask every member of the USNW to forgive Acadia for its forceful invasion of Fraesia, and invite them to assist in rebuilding the nation and inspect the writing of the new constitution, if they so choose. Have we not been friendly with everyone else? We attempt to remain friendly with every nation, even if we do have our disagreements, the best thing to do is put them aside and help each other up when we stumble. 'A house divided against itself cannot stand.' This house being the Union as a whole.
As the President of the Acadian Federation, I promise you that the occuptation of Fraesia will end peaceably; and in the end, the Fraesians are free, the Acadians are safe, and the Union is happy. Thank you.
I am willing to answer questions on this topic. Please ask any that you have and they will be answered to my best knowledge."
