Geographic Coordinate System
This is a proposal by fox, who recommended to introduce the coordinate system in Adonia.
So what is the Geographic Coordinate System?
"A geographic coordinate system is a coordinate system that enables every location on Adonia to be specified by a set of numbers. The coordinates are often chosen such that one of the numbers represent vertical position, and two or three of the numbers represent horizontal position. A common choice of coordinates is latitude, longitude and elevation." We're not just talking about the tropic line, the prime meridian and the equator but also latitudes and longitudes, which makes the USNW map realistic and precise.
example:
London = 51° 30′ 26″ N, 0° 7′ 39″ W or 51.507222, -0.1275
The proposal would include:
- Addition of 10° Latitude and Longitude on Adonia Maps
- Determining precise locations in Adonia, ie. Triton City, Asgard is located on 10° 30′ 15" N, 15° 23' 16" E (not really true)
Benefits to the community?
- Able to precisely pinpoint exact locations of cities in Adonia
- Able to precisely map and plan on several transportation project, ie. The Adonian Pipeline System (TAPS)
- Able to use GPS (if you need it in roleplay and you will need it in roleplay)
