To kick off the contest, here is last year's winner, Manuel Carrasco with Que Nadie!
Airing, live from Smith City, across the USNW and Adonia, we are proud to present the event of this Winter, the long awaited, uSong Song Contest of 2012, And now we go to your host for the night, Carolyn R. Bertrand.
Carolyn: Good Evening everybody, I hope your as ready for a night of entertainment as I am! -Crowd cheers-
Carolyn: And we continue with our first liver performance of the night, my friend, your co-host of this evening, welcome the very special Sir Paul Ely with his newest song, Different. -Lights dim and cameras focus on the stage, the crowd clapping as Sir Paul Ely walks onto stage-
Sir Paul: -gasping, while waiting for the crowd to stop cheering- It's still so invigorating to sing in front of all these great great people, your a great audience tonight, but we must move on.
Carolyn: We must Sir Ely, can I call you Paul?
Sir Paul: Yes you may Carolyn, and...-still gasping- why don't you introduce the next opening act?
Carolyn: Okay, you get your breath back there, our next act, is a tad bit more dance-y that Sir Paul's music, please welcome Groove Armada -crowd cheers again-
Sir Paul: Well wasn't that a burst of new music there, I saw everybody up and dancing to that, absolutely great
Carolyn: But that is that for the opening of the contest, now we move onto the piece-de-resistance, the acts, we have 10 countries bidding to win this years contest.
Sir Paul: And so many different styles to appeal to everybody, So without do.
Both: The 2012 uSong Song Contest, has officially Started -massive cheers from the crowd-
Sir Paul: And we start with the newest country out of all our acts, only joined this month and only just made the deadline, we have the Staatebund de Brullen Reich...God I hope I pronounced that right, with the first song of the night, Enjoy!
Carolyn: Give it up for The Script, representing the Staatebund de Brullen Reich, with 6 Degrees of Seperation. And what a lovely song to start on, next up, we have Kaskaskia, another new country but an elder joiner than Brullen Staatebund, so here is Santigold with Disparate Youth.
Sir Paul: A great great song from Kaskaskia, Santigold, give it up for her. Next up, we have Nilia and Albian, not actually in the USNW, but a former member, with the Ghuangjian war just finished and everything becoming peaceful, it's brilliant there they able to make it here. So welcome Nilia and Albian's representatives, U-KISS!
Carolyn: Wow they all look so good....I'm moving to Nilia if they all look like that.
Sir Paul: While Carolyn is having her little boy-crush...
Carolyn: ...am not...
Sir Paul: ...As I was saying, while she's off doing that, out next act is Acadia, also a former USNW member, but again still valid to be entering a song in uSong, so wish them luck as we welcome on stage All-Acadian Rejects.
Carolyn: Again a really good song, it'll be a tight contest this, the voting will be to the wire I think...speaking of, now were half way through....or abouts half way. Time to talk a bit about voting, Paul.
Sir Paul: Yes, the voting will take place after all 10 songs have been performed, only 6 more to go, and we will open the voting lines, the instructions will be at the end, but keep in mine this 1 fact, you cannot vote for your own country, that vote will not be counted.
Carolyn: So we urge you not to be tempted to vote for yourself, you won't be doing yourself any help with it. But now onto song 5, half way, and already had some great music, so better to come Paul?
Sir Paul: Here's hoping, it's onto Folland now. Enjoy.
Sir Paul: Your prediction was right Carolyn, a magnificent song, this I feel would be the one to beat, but who knows what the rest of Adonia will choose, all I can say if good luck to them.
Carolyn: Also good luck to all our contestants, and now we have a big contributor to the USNW, Okaiken. Been with us for around a year now so happy anniversary you all, and good luck again to you.
Carolyn: You know they JUST missed out on last years song contest, hopefully their position in the final results will compensate for that close margin. But forever onwards, and Paul, you may need to cover your super-pop ears from the next 2 because we have back to back rock and metal. So all you fans out there, we have Paradise first, a massive contrast from Okaiken's song.
Sir Paul:...That's not the correct spelling...but nevermind, my super-pop ears can take music like that Carolyn, what you talking about.
Carolyn: I'm talking about BACK TO BACK, and we have Shayden next, our glorious hosts these evenings -crowd cheers again- and we are having a great night in Smith City aren't we all -crowd cheers louder-. Here is Shayden, bidding to host 2nd time in a row with a very metal inspired song.
Sir Paul: Was that metal? I never really listened before....wows...I'm speechless, but I must continue anyway. We come to the last 2 songs of the night, first off Insulo, one of the only remaining members since last uSong to be here tonight, joining Shayden who were also here last year. So please welcome Insulo onto the stage.
Carolyn: Ahhh very relaxing, thank you Melendi for that, needed some nice none, screamy music to contrast with the metal before it, and we are on the last song of the night. It's been an honour working with you Paul first off, a man of your stature.
Sir Paul: it's been a pleasure working with you as well Carolyn, but we still have voting to go, and remember, DON'T VOTE FOR YOURSELF. Can't stress that enough to you all. But now, out last song, coming from Matinenda, this song is by Pendulum and will be the last of the night, and again rather high tempo, so please, feel free to get up and dance.
Carolyn: And with that magnificent ending to the acts, we now give to you, the voting portion, the instructions are quite simple, we are now gonna go to our 3rd announcer, the voice in the sky, your local presenter who is covering the show with commentary in your country to give you the low-down on how to vote. Good luck to you all.
Sir Paul: And sorry to sound like a broken record but...you probably know what I'm going to say, don't you all -crowd shouts "Don't Vote For Yourself"-. But from us, it's good-night, and I heard from a little birdie, that it's snowing outside, so have a very safe trip, and good luck to all the acts.
So here is the voting procedure, you have scores from 1-5, the lowest scorer will be the song you hate most but still want to vote for. the 5 doesn't have any special meaning to it, apart from the numbers after.
You have 8 Points, 10 Points and 12 Points to give away, with these you say your 3rd place, 2nd place and 1st place in your own country, your results won't necessarily be how you want them at the end. But that's every-bodies vote combined to find the winning act and winning country in result.
So basically 2 stages.
1) Vote 1-5 for songs you feel need voting but not your top 3
2) Vote the 8, 10 and 12 as your top 3, 8 Points being the 3rd place song for you.
And a tiny few rules.
1) Again, Don't vote for yourself, no matter what
2) Do not vote for countries 2 times
3) When voting, Put the country name, nothing else.
4) Ignore rule 5
5) Ignore rule 4
Please when you voted, please tell us you have voted. Thank you
You also have the option to choose your representatives, these will be for the result show and will tell the entire of Adonia of what your country has voted on, these will be optional and will not change your results if you do or don't submit a representative.
So here is the voting sheet, Good voting, the voting will end on the 27th for the result show.
And it's goodbye from me, have a good night, and we leave you with a view of the Arena outside, in the snow that is falling, so festive. Good night and good luck.
