I'll start this out with saying that for the the first time in a long time I finally felt like playing sc4 and made some damn good cities in doing so, in my opinion.
However I remembered today the reason I nearly left in June, not because of the crisis per sey, but rather the fact that this community has turned itself so far from the game it started out as centered around, that it's become a total clusterfuck and is frankly disgusting. The politics involved here are disgusting to me, some people get off on it and that's their business, but it's not for me. I've spent most of the last 50 months in this community and it's been quite the ride. Most of the people i've met are good people, and i've enjoyed the time i've had here, but there's also some folks that aren't so much, and I'm not mentioning names. Looking back, I wish I wasn't such a hesitant in nature person, otherwise I'd have done what I should've in June and left like I am now. I decided to see if I could ride it out but I can't stand being here another day. Those of you who read this, whom i've met, I hope I somehow had a positive touch on your life, to those of you whom can't say this, I'm sorry, I try to be friendly to as many people as I can. I hope this can also be seen as a wakeup call to people who are being too serious about this but frankly, I'm just tired of it all. I can also say that to know I won't be dealing with the political bs that takes place around this whole community (and when I say that, I mean the whole of the union community, not just the usnw branch), has put a bit of a smile on my face, and as I leave this union, this part of my life, it also leaves me to think, appropriately, happy birthday to me.
For the last time,
Thanks,
Will
