Today I bring a update from the poorest part of Ningíbo- The Dyrashi Slums. These slums started to accumulate in the late 1950's and kept to grow until the early 1990's.
Originally, the slums were formed by poor workers from the Untied Vassalies. They believed they were coming to live the dream but they ended up living by a stream.
You would of thought that these poor people would return to there home nation. This was not possible as the United Vassalies had been at war with Ningíbo and laughed at the ambitious people that went to live the dream and then shot them when they returned crying. Due to this, Ningíbo encouraged the Dryashi slum dwellers to stay as at least they would stay alive longer in the slums then if they attempted a return home. Certain slum dwellers saw this as a bid to make them stay and work in the factories. Needless to say they proved themselves wrong.
Ningíbo needed the people to work in the city state's cheap factories so secretly encouraged poor Untied Vassalies farmers to migrate and work in factories. There wages from the factories were a lot higher and more stable then the income they would make from working on a farm.
This continued until the early 1990's. In 1991, Ningíbo's government started to build large houses for the slums dwellers and homeless. This was called the first step in building 'A new a Dryashi' . This had come 40 years late for the original slum dwellers but offered hope for there children and any new slum dwellers.
In 1995, the government built its a large housing estate on the eastern side of the Dyrashi slums. These houses were built at a lowered rate by and in turn sold extremely cheaply to the slums dwellers that had there slums destroyed. This is the second step in building 'A new Dryashi'.
The third step started in 1996. This was part of another government plan to make sure all children received free schooling. The only area that had unschooled children was the slums so they built a series of primary and secondary schools. These schools have been expanded several times since 1996 and many slum dwellers are getting good jobs and leaving the slums.
In the late 90's, as relations with the United Vassalies improved, many slum dwellers began going to the United Vassalies buying food ,that Ningíbo doesn't have the room to grow, and selling them. This became a popular way of making money for the slum dwellers and soon the small market by the slums became a massive mix stalls selling goods from all other the United Vassalies.
Now for the Pics-
