Round one commenced with Cavalcanti Racing driver Robert Vagin taking pole in a wet qualifying session at the Akane Racetrack in Nilia and Albain. After starting from 16th on the grid, Vitor Barbosa got an excellent start in his Van Capelleveen and was upto 11th in turn 1.
The agile Maan was able to maneuver around the 2.1 mile circuit better than most of it's competitors and when he pitted on lap 20 of the 37 lap race he was upto 3rd. Barbosa finally took the lead from Mikra/Andvari driver Masahiro Kondo on lap 31 and sped off to a 2.1 second lead as he crossed the line. The race featured several incidents including a crash on the start as Sobieslaw Majewski stalled and Millar Hay clipped him destroying both cars.
On lap 8, Hay's teammate, Taras Maslow lost power early on the lap and stopped near the gravel trap in Turn 8.
Barbosa's teammate, Jaro Pul was also victim to mechanical troubles when his awd system stopped working and Pul went off in turn 12. Barbosa took home the win while Kondo took second and Malonese driver James Rivers rounded out the podium.
