In the past days of sustained conflict with insurgency forces in the Bruellan Occupation Zone, forces have suffered substantial losses.
-Two were killed when a LAV was destroyed by an IED while travelling between Müllerheim and Kurtz.
-Five were killed, three were injured during an attack on a road checkpoint outside of Müllerheim.
-Seven were killed, twelve injured during the re-takeover of the Müllerheim Military Base. Insurgents suffered heavy casualties from sustained bombing prior to ground forces moving in.
-Twenty-two were killed, with ten injured, during a firefight on the outskirts of Kurtz. Forces were assisting civilians attempting to remove rubble from a footpath.
-Two were killed while patrolling on foot.
In total 38 have been killed following the initial attacks on the Müllerheim Military Base.
The government remains committed to solving the security issues within the Occupation Zone. Additional resources have been tasked to help solve these issues. The safety of the people living within the zone is the paramount concern.
An operation to purge insurgents from the city of Müllerheim will commence tonight. The large concentration of forces in the area will sweep the city, looking for potential insurgent bases.
