2014 World Expo Host Bidding

In order to host the 2014 World Expo, you need to bid. Simply submit pictures of the host city (Please try to include SC4 pictures, since this is partly a city-building union), including things such as amenities, lodging, event center(s), etc. Bidding ends Tuesday, April 22nd at 11:59:59 EST. Voting for the host is from Wednesday, April 23rd to Friday, April 25th at 11:59:59 EST. Simply submit your bid below, stating the nation name and city, and showing the pictures with it. Thank you very much!!

I think that's too less of a time to make it up...

Well, all it would be is we get a host, and then we have people submit the pictures that have to do with their nation, and then I make up a little thing that showcases everyone's nations. Seems simple enough, right?

The thing is: Expos are supposed to showcase what the current developments are on their countries, so it's more than a couple of spots of nice-looking images. Each nation should also set up a unique Pavillion and the host should build a site from the buildings people have requested. Expos should have themes and very specific-wise.


Kind of like this image. The theme that I could come up with is "Weaving all nations into 1 fabric" and the topic could range from textiles to city planning.

So, if I'm understanding you correctly, we should keep the World Expo to only having current developments, and then have another event for showcasing the cities of each nation?

Also, I know what a World Fair is like on Earth, but on Adonia, I think it'd be cool if a World Expo could also show off the different cities we all have. Just my two cents though.

It could technically "weave in"

Chris the problem is you are making a make a sc4 thing event. I can't be bothered with that however I would happily show off what my countries have to offer. So for example I would design a new beer and show off some military hardware. For Kallvarde I could promote tourism with tourism adverts.

It doesn't necessarily have to be SC4 pics, and besides, quite a few of the people here steal real life pics anyways, and given about a month or so (it could be extended if need be), people have plenty of time to at least whip up a small city or find some pics of an old city they made. The main goal is to just raise the activity levels, which can be either through SC4 or not.

When we were discussing this I didn't realise you had it city orientated, I thought it a place to show off great stuff that comes out of our countries

It's not necessary, but I purposely made it a very broad, "showcase your nation". People can take that in about a billion different ways. They can show off cities, show off beers like you said, show off new technologies, culture, etc.

I extended the bidding time until the 22nd. Gives people more time, and if necessary I can extend it to the end of April.
