Welcome to the First Day of the Summit! Today , the topic would be mass transportation options as well as aviation.

The Representative for Folland has requested for mass transportation options but needs to clarify what kinds of mass transportation options are achievable.

The Representative for Okaiken would like to establish an Adonian-wide system of air traffic control.

I think it would be beneficial for Althena to adopt a system of international routes that would facilitate travel across the region (basically E-routes, but for the whole continent, since Althena is one continent)
And while we're on that topic, Euphemia could prolly benefit from some as well.

Brullen would like to participate in the Althenan route system. We already have the limited West Althenan route system, most of which now only functions in Brullen and Trentannia.

Adonia doesn't have an E-Route yet, and this is extremely important when it comes to Air traffic.

In terms of a Global Air Traffic Control system, a spherical grid of Satellites in Geo-synchronous orbit could relay a constantly updated map of every airborne flight on the planet, to a central ATC center in a to be determined location. This center, however, would need to be quite large with hundreds of controllers present at any time. Think of your busiest International Airport, on a global scale with thousands of flights to keep track of at once. It's risky, but possible. There would need to be backup protocols for emergencies, possibly where if something were to happen to the central ATC, control would be bumped down to local towers.

Now concerning ground base Mass Transit, we believe in the potential of the rails. Now though, standard rail lines can only carry up to so much, and go so fast. A continent-wide, and someday global remodeling of our rail systems is in order from standard to a form of High Speed or even Magnetic Levitation. Folland, in particular, has experimented in MagLev technology. The potential is enormous both in carrying capacity and travel times, a passenger can enter a train in Hinali, Folland, and exit on the East coast in Acadia with plenty of time to spare on the same day.

Okaiken Transport Representative: There is another way to set up the global system in air traffic. We just establish predetermined routes (corridors) for aircraft, and would let the current infrastructure of the ATC to direct the aircraft to these established corridors. That being said, it would decrease the chance of collisions in the near future. I would also recommend installation of GPS and TCAS systems on all commercial and private aircraft, and would require all aircraft -- military or commercial - to install a Flight Data Recorder and a Flight Voice Recorder.

We did not say you can publish the recordings to the public, that would be at your military's discretion. Besides, the VR won't be opened until the plane actually crashed.
