Day 1

Welcome to the first day of the diplomatic summit.

Today, our topics are trade and finance.

It seems that are economy here is not really intertwined and woven. There are many nations here that refused to trade with other countries because:
(a) The country has no clue what's going on
(b) The country declares a 'sakoku' or is too shy to participate
(c) The country has no one to trade to
(d) The country is too greedy

In this session of the summit, our nations will talk about increasing our trade between countries as well as the attempt to increase efficiency between our nations.

Package #1: Shipping Routes, transportation, pipelines, communication cables and satellites
One of the subjects our union seems to be missing are shipping routes, transportation and pipelines (only countries in Itzamna such as Loftindor and Ruteria have shipping lanes or pipelines. In this package, our nations will set up:

(a) A series of pipeline projects that would eventually connect from Insulo to Troix via other USNW Nations. This pipeline project, called the Trans-Althenian Pipeline, would be similar to the ones Gazprom has in the continent of Itzamna. It would carry natural gas and oil from nations that have one and for a payment or trade, other nations can use that resource to boost the economy. This would take a very long time to finish it but it will be a very great addition for economies.
(b) Also a series of pipeline projects, this time from the Southern Tip of Itzamna, through Akemoor and Loftindor, then through Ruteria, then Shayden and finally to Viatica. Like it's Eastern Counterpart, it would carry natural gas and oil from nations that have one and for a payment or trade, other nations can use that resource to boost the economy. This would take a shorter time since there are facilities in Itzamna for a pipeline but it would still be a very long time to finish.
(c) A communication line between Utrova and Shayden. This line is easier to build, and it can also have multiple advantages such as improved communication and technology trade.
(d) Establishment of Shipping Routes around Adonia by introducing a shipping company that would allow other nations to trade. Loftindor has already implemented this and it has now improved relations with nations such as Grand and Belluterra.
(e) Construction of a new canal in Ruteria to connect Nations in Eastern Althena and the Continents of Euphemia and Itzamna.
(f) Construction of the Forgia Canal to reduce travel times between the Solvanese Ocean and the Alcadean Sea.

Package #2 Trade Talks
Our nation recently noticed that there were a few free trade agreements between nations, and there is only one group in the USNW, called the G8, that actually does free trade with other nations. In this package, our nation, with the recommendation of Posillipo, and on behalf of the G8 would like to:
(a) Establish very good trade relations with other USNW Nations
(b) Sign free trade agreements with other USNW Nations
(c) Add more members in the G8
(d) designs for the Enieo (also known in Troix as the Sanese En, but we have our own designs)

(e) Construction of a new canal in Ruteria to connect Nations in Eastern Althena and the Continents of Euphemia and Itzamna.

Ruteria already has one the Bunaxtlaksa Canal or Easier the Ruterian Canal, Utrova has already a Cruise Line that Passes through it, but thanks for taking it in count .

Ruteria feels that more communications should be built, and we support the making of Shipping/Maritime Lines and will start planning our own soon, we also support the construction of new pipelines.

Ruteria would also support the designing for the Enieos.

Gamat thinks that more communications are needed and A Trans-Althenian Pipeline is really needed, and we would like to support the idea of Shipping lines in Adonia.

Gamat also feels that nations that adopt the Enio should have their own designs, but that doesn't affects Gamat, as we only use the Enio for International Use

Posillipo Delegation's Comments

1.A: As this pipeline would travel through Posillipo, we will take this issue to our legislative chamber, I'd like to say that they would most likely get approved. We also would like to endorse this program. As current Minster of Energy, I'd like to endorse the program, and would oversee the beginning of the project, but then hand it off to me successor.

1.B: This doesn't affect Posillipo, however, we feel it is a great idea. As Minister of Energy, I'd like to endorse it.

1.C: This wouldn't really affect Posillipo.

1.D: Posillipo is adamant about setting up shipping routes with other nations, hoping to improve our trade, and as Minister of Economics, I'd like to fully endorse it.

1.E: This would affect Posillipo only in means of easier transportation, we're perfectly fine with the construction of the canal.

1.F: This would affect Posillipo in many ways, including quicker oil transportation and easier access to East Solvanese Ocean, we'd like to support this fenture,

Sidenote: Posillipo would consider fiscally supporting ventures A, D, E, and F.

2.A: We'd like seek better trade agreements with other willing nations.

2.B: We'd like to seek Free Trade Agreements with some of our closer allies, as well as some of the nations who trade with us more.

2.C: As a current member of the G5 we'd like to see more members added to the alliance.

2.D: I've been looking into this recently, I was planning on getting some suggestions soon, so this would be a good time to do that.

Delegation from Grand, Belluterra, & Malo

#1a: This would be a great boost for the Malonese economy, especially seeing as we have a good deal of the oil produced by Althenan USNW members; however, we would like to avoid the pipeline passing through either Forgia or Zebtesia if possible, due to tensions along our borders.
#1b: This would not directly affect Grand, Belluterra, or Malo.
#1c: This would not directly affect Grand, Belluterra, or Malo.
#1d: Grand, Belluterra, and Malo are planning to implement this in the coming weeks.
#1e: As Ruteria said, such a canal already exists.
#1f: For security reasons, Malo will boycott construction of any such canal if it is placed under Forgian administration, and may be forced to take other measures in such an event as well.
#2a: We would willingingly trade with any other nations that wish to do so with us.
#2b: We have already done so in a few cases; examples include Ordanus, Utrova, and Ruteria.
#2c: As another current member of the G5 Alliance, which includes free-trade, we would love to see more members added.
#2d: We are looking forward to seeing such designs.

1a: This would positively affect Greater Morsco and its economy, as we will no longer have to import majority of these resources by ships.
1b: This would not directly affect Greater Morsco.
1c: This would not directly affect Greater Morsco.
1d: Greater Morsco fully agrees and approves this idea.
1f: This would not affect Greater Morsco, but we are for this idea.
2a: Greater Morsco agrees.
2b: Greater Morsco agrees.
2c: We fully approve the idea of the more members in G5, and we also think there should be more trade alliances like this, we already are in Great Cillician Organisation, what associates the states at the coast of Cillician Ocean.
2d:Greater Morsco strongly supports making the designs of Enieos.

Dantanaea would like to point out that a number of large Dantanaean companies are currently setting up a new shipping company. These companies will be shareholders of the new shipping company. The goal of this new shipping company is to be a dominant player in the Solvanesee Ocean. For shipping to places further then the Solvanese Ocean these companies will still use other shipping companies. However no more relying on independent shipping companies as far as the Solvanese Ocean is concerned will still significantly lower the costs for shipping for the companies taking part in this new enterprise. Any significant company from abroad that wishes to join may put forth a proposal once this enterprise is more concrete, as long as the company has shipping from one port in the Solvanese Ocean to another Solvanese port.

1a-b-related: Dantanaea is an oil-rich island. We could lay a pipeline to mainland Neridea but our relations with East Mnopa, Mnopa and Anbala are rather bad an these nations would not agree to this plan. As such Dantanaea will continue the use of oil tankers for the export of oil to Neridea (and the rest of the world).

1c: Does not concern us

1d: See my previous post. We are in favor of this proposal

1e: Dantanaea is about as far away from the east coast of Itzamna and Euphemia as it from the west coast and there already is a canal in Ruteria so we are not supporting this proposal although we do see the advantages it might have for other nations.

1f: We are in favor of this proposal.

2a: That it isn't on the forum here doesn't necessarily mean it isn't the case at all. It just hasn't been thought and/or written about. We should and are in favor.

2b: Completely free trade might be a bit much (Free trade Agreements aren't very widespread on Earth, although they have been increasing in number significantly since the end of WW2) but we are definitely in favor of less restrictions. Our Trade Agreement with G,B&M and Shayden should be a clear indication of that.

2c: In favor.

2d: Not a priority for us.
