Viatica | Genoa

Welcome to the Genoa metropolitan area! (This update is just a complete copy of what was posted on Simtropolis)

I am glad to announce that I have made a new City Journal! Genoa is a fictional city in the Eastern Coast of Viatica in the continent of Euphemia. It is surrounded by suburbs, trees, and farmland. Here are a few pictures of the downtown area.

These are Genoa's ongoing gridded suburbs.



This is a table showing the population growth. The population increased dramatically from 1990-2000, which was right after the Viatican Revolution was won by the Viaticans. You'll have to scroll down a bit.

No, it is in US in Simtropolis, but it is on Adonia in USNW

Sorry I've been gone for a while. First, my internet stopped working. Then, the AC jack in my laptop broke for the fourth time. So I brought it to Best Buy where they told me that the warranty has expired. But the customer service lady waved some fees and sent it to be repaired anyway. So I won't be able to post any pictures or updates for a week or two. Maybe longer because of the holidays. I will try to get on as much as I can using other computers (on this one the top of the page doesn't show up right...).
As soon as I get my laptop back I will make more updates.

Right now, I am going to try to copy the existing updates from ST to the forum here.

The city just started building a new university about 5 minutes from downtown Genoa. Genoa University is going to be very expensive to get into, but it is offering many scholarships. It is already looking really nice! It is opening up new areas for retail stores and bumping up the desirability for new homes. Great highway access is helpful for students visiting home over break.


Across from the university some a new subdivision is being built by the beach. The beachfront property will be quite expensive.


This building right here is the city's newspaper building. It is so technologically advanced that some readers get the newspaper on their Kindle or iPad!


Today, the fog and rain are slowing the construction near the highway. It is closed while an overpass is being reconstructed. Some noise walls will be added to the new subdivision too.


But by tomorrow, the rain will be gone and the planes will fly again! This is the Genoa Regional Airport*. To go international, travellers must fly to New York, then get on another plane to get to their destination.

*Disclaimer: You can probably see that I don't make airports very often... There will be an update on airport rebuilding/remodeling later.

The airport and beach development has caused the need for a new school. Pineview Elementary School serves many of the new neighborhoods.


A popular beach in the Genoa Metropolitan Area is North Beach. But it is rarely ever crowded because it is usually cold in Northern Viatica. Take a look at their slogan.

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been here in a while. First, my laptop that has Genoa breaks and Best Buy refuses to fix it. Second, my new laptop will not respond. The only thing it is capable of doing is showing my desktop background. So I haven't been able to get on the internet very much at all. But as soon as I can get everything finally fixed and ready I hope to make a very nice update.

Thanks for letting us know how the progress is going.. look forward to you returning with an update :p

What a mess, I know how you feel though, last summer I didn't have a computer for a month.

Thanks guys, now some good news. I had my new laptop recovered to Jan. 3rd and it is now working again. No SC4 Documents lost! While Genoa is on hold, a new city in Viatica will be coming soon. You may have already seen a teaser on ST. It is going to be a "destination" type city. Nice weather, lots of fun things to do on the water, big stadiums, parks, roller coasters, and all that fun stuff. And updates will be posted one day earlier here than on Simtropolis just to add to the fun.
