RED TAPE HURTS LONG OVERDUE MULTI-MILLION ZEN INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS

Devon News Online Journal Stalled_project
Seirin Government Center stands unfinished after 5 years

SEIRIN CITY, DOJIMAZAKI PREFECTURE - Discontent among Seirinians are reaching greater heights as several long overdue infrastructure projects continued to be delayed. Among these includes the new Seirin International Convention Center, Seirin International Airport Terminal C and Seirin Government Center. These three projects alone which costs an estimate of 450 Million Zen (310 Million Adonian Sent) have been constructed since 2009 and up until now are nowhere near being finished. Many people now questions, what happened to the government funds dedicated to the completion of the said project.

"As I have said these projects are under the Ministry of Transportation (MoT) and the Ministry of Interior and District Government, the city cannot in anyway interfere with its implementation otherwise dictated by law.... The city government has been doings its best to get in touch with the national government regarding the issue but they are not responding.... If I was in charge, these could have been completed a long time ago." Tenshin Toshikazu, mayor of Seirin City announced in an interview with Devon News (DN).

"There is no problem with the money, the budget is there, the processes undertaken are all legal. There is no issue within the government. The problem lies in the contractor, Kaiba Corporation (Komatsu) for their slow progress in the construction. I don't know what issues they have for their slow progress but the MoT has already notified them a lot of times. We are now looking for administrative actions that can be done against them." Furihata Kouki, Minister for Transportation defended when called by the DN regarding the city government's accusation. "I think it is best for this country that people should do research first before pointing any finger." He added.

With each sectors of the government blaming each other, the fate of these projects are definitely not clear and whether or not it will be finished, time will only tell. Local citizens are now calling the attention of Teiko Premier Seijuro Akashi to fix the problem and they hope that they could get a fast enough response for the overdue plea.

Boot the contractor. Claim they failed the expectations of the contract and award it to another with a better reputation in the construction industry.

CENTRAL-46 APPROVES SAME-SEX MARRIAGE ACT

Devon News Online Journal Same_sex_marriage_supporters
Same-sex marriage supporters jubilate with the decision of Central-46

TETSUYA SPECIAL ADMINISTRATIVE DISTRICT - Amid large opposition from different private sectors and political groups, Central-46 voted to pass the controversial SSM Act which will provide legal basis for civil union and marriage for all homosexual couples in Teiko. Backed with the support of the Teiko National Party (TNP) headed by Premier Akashi Seijuro, who is openly gay himself, Central-46 voted 345 Yes to 90 No with 5 representatives abstaining.

"This is a historical moment for Teiko." Tomoya Okazaki (TNP), the main author of the bill cheered upon the reading of the bill's approval. "It only shows how much tangible we are in adjusting to new challenges." He added in an interview alter after the session recess.

With the passage of the act, many people now question the reaction of the general public and the international community. Former surveys show many Teikonians have positive reaction towards homosexuality but only a half approves of the legalization of same-sex marriage. Is Teiko really ready for such cultural transformation?
