Sinope possess a vast transportation network which ease trades and population transport all over the country. The Sea has historically been the main transportation mean for Sinopians, having developed a vast network of towns along the coastline. A large maritime power, Sinope holds major ports in the Alcadean and Alannain seas.
Braavos the Great and its Central Business District
The region of Braavos the Great is the main pillar of the Sinopian economy. Over 70% of the country's corporations are headquartered in the region while the region accounts for 30% of the country's total gross domestic production. As a major financial centre, Braavos the Great holds the country's stock exchange and several international banks offices.
Agriculture, especially wine and olive production are very important in Sinope
Sinope is one of the few countries in Althena to be an exporter of agricultural product and have enough agricultural production to respond to its own food needs. The agricultural output has been growing at a respectable rate. However, since the 1980s, agriculture has been in a state of decline in terms of its share in the total economy. The country's large agricultural sector accounted for 29.5% of the employment in 2009. Historically, Sinope's farmers have been fairly fragmented. According to the 2004 Census, "85% of agricultural holdings were under 10 hectares and 57% of these were fragmented into four or more non-contiguous plots." Many old agricultural attitudes remain widespread, but these traditions are expected to change in the future. Sinope is dismantling the incentive system. Fertilizer and pesticide subsidies have been curtailed and remaining price supports have been gradually converted to floor prices. The mining sector is well developed in the north of the country near the borders, with iron and gold being the main extracted minerals. Sinope is one of the largest fish exporters.
Aeolus is one of the leading Sinopian company worldwide.
Sinope has many worldwide reputed companies and has a very strong domestic market. Sinope currently has the biggest number of cooperatives and credit unions in Adonia. Credit unions hold for 85% of the financial sector of the economy.
Tyr is a major fashion and touristic centre and the second biggest city of Sinope
Tyr is a leading chemicals and pharmaceutical centre in Sinope. It is also a leading worldwide reputed fashion city with many known brands originating from Tyr. Although the scientific industries holds the biggest shares of the region's economy, the city is also a hub for agricultural trades and distribution across Sinope and Althena.
Sinope is a leading ship manufacturer worldwide and counts numerous shipyards and major ports as a historical maritime trading centre
Industry accounts for 35% of Sinope's economy, mainly with shipbuilding, but also car manufacturing, aeronautics and electronics in general. Braavos has traditionally been associated with a glass factory located on one of its island, worldwide reputed. Sinope still conserves this reputation of a worldwide glass maker and other daily products maker. Situated in one of the most heavily militarized region of the world, especially during the Dead War, Sinope is an important manufacturer of armaments, both for domestic use and for export. Sinope has actively began shifting its defense industry's areas of interest more from its previously homeland defense-oriented militarization efforts, to the promotion of military equipment and technology as mainstream products of exportation to boost its international trade. Sinope has historically been a leading producer of ships and is still is with a production of many types of ships, including oil supertankers, and oil-drilling platforms.
Tourism is a key sector fo the Sinopian economy and is one of the world's most visited country
Sinope has been one of the world's most popular tourist destination and it is geographically one of the most diverse countries in Althena. Its cities contain some of the greatest treasures in Althena, its countryside is prosperous and well tended and it boasts dozens of major tourist attractions, like Braavos, the Sinope Riviera, the beaches, the winter sport resorts of the Carpathians, the rocky islands of the Alcadean Sea. The country is renowned for its gastronomy (particularly wines and bread), history, culture and fashion.
