I've decided to try something new and out of my comfort zone: tropics. I've backed up my Acadian plugins folder and have a fresh, very organized folder. So far I have:

  • Tropical Farms
  • Latin American Residential Lots
  • A Beach Mod
  • Cliff Mod
  • An LBT Terrain Mod (That needs to be deleted)
  • The NAM
  • A tropical water mod
  • Beach umbrellas and stuff (that are missing a dependency)
  • BSC textures and stuff
  • LBT textures and stuff
  • CP Palm trees
  • Heblem Tropical Flora

So, I am not experienced with tropical cities and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions to offer. Smile Thanks.

I will give you a single recommendation: The tropical MMP king nbvc who released tropical stuff a while ago Razz.

Ooh tropical. Lots of sandy beaches, palm trees and bright green rain forests. I though have never done a tropical setting.

Technically I'm supposed to be doing one, but we all know how that's going. Not a single beach to be found XD

Lol, guys. Razz I meant Caribbean Sea tropical with a lot of Spanish (Insulonian) influence. But some Asian tropical plugins will probably work here too. I'll check out nbvc. Wink

And yeah, I'm planning on having white sand beaches and clear, turquoise-ish water.

    What? Lol, Caribbean tropical.

My terrain mod is messing with the waves, water, and beach so any suggestions on a good mod that is not by Heblem would be helpful, too. Very Happy

I'm currently thinking of a name for the country. I'm looking at some famous explorer names that I can name the country after. For example, Coronado.

The history will be something about it being an Inslulonian colony and being ceded to early 1900's imperialist Acadia, possibly purchased. Then, after the GAW, Acadia's economy was very weak and the island residents were demanding independence. Acadia could not support another war, and promised the island its independence; which was granted three months after the end of the GAW. In 1960, however, there was a communist uprising and all relations with Acadia were broken off. In 2009, the revolutionary leader from 1960, which was also the dictator of the island, died unexpectedly. Acadia and Shayden intervened, and set up the democratic government it has today, with a mixture of Shayden's socialist-leaning policies and Acadia's conservative-leaning policies.

I've had that problem with some of the older terrain mods. I assume you're using HD beaches and Water now? I think that's the conflict. As far as terrain mods for Caribbean islands the terrain of islands varies pretty widely. If you are doing a more dry sandy island my go-to is always Marsh's Socorro Terrain Mod which blends excellently with beaches and I even uses it in areas it wouldn't fit and cover it with MMPs because it looks so "right" with beaches.

You can also use rivit's Coastal Mod for blue water and white sand beaches.

^Actually, I am using his water mod, but not beach mod. Maybe I should so I can avoid that terrain mod/water transition. I'll try to get a picture soon.

I think this will be the flag:

In the middle, there is a symbol of a Mayan crop circle, which will relate to the history in some way. Razz

Oh I love that flag, although personally I'd lower that saturation a bit.

Reminds me of the Argentinean Flag.

Remember the Mayans of Adonia are called the Mutir, I think I made a wiki page about them, anyways, if you need any help or information, I worked really hard on it, and I'd love to share the information with you.

Oh, that would be great! Smile I hope it's not too unrealistic for Mayans to be on an island, too, as well as the mainland. Razz That will be incredibly useful later. Thank you!

(Also, that wiki is old. Here is the new[er] link: http://usnw-wiki.wikkii.net/w/index.php?title=Mutir_Civilization )

No, it will still be considered Euphemia. It will be near Shayden and Vanadla/Cuba. I just need to research the Mayans a little more. If they didn't originally populate some of the Caribbean Islands, I will have to make something else up.

The Mayans sadly did not populate any Caribbean Islands. I will use something similar to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuba#Pre-Columbian_era
