UPDATE VI: A BEND IN THE RIVER
Today we're going thousands of kilometers south of Francistown, to the northern borders of the Viceroyalty of Malo, a mostly arid nation about twice the size of Grand. The area we're visiting is not as arid, however, as it is situated in the southern portion of the fertile Zebtase Delta, one of the largest river deltas in the world, and which is mostly located in Malo's northern neighbor, Zebtesia, named after the Zebtase River.
The state-owned company, Imperial Oil, has only recently started to explore the Zebtase Delta because of political issues, but the prospects already seem promising, and ImO has just opened a miniature oil field and a refinery, and plans to create a small town here to support the infrastructure under construction.
Here is the entrance to the plant. Let's take a look inside, shall we?
Thousands upon thousands of barrels of oil are stored and processed here... and that's just one corner of the complex.
Living quarters for the most vital workers will be located inside the complex itself; however, the majority of them will be housed in a brand-new town located on the other side of the channel.
The oil produced by the Zebtase oil fields will be refined in these tall towers, few of which are being currently used due to the fact that oil production in this field isn't fully operational.
Sure wouldn't want to light a cigarette in this area...
Finally, to close this short update, we present you a novelty in Malonese waters - an oil rig. This is only the second rig built in Malo, and the only one still operational since the fire at the
Ohesh Gamma rig in 1999, which set Malonese offshore oil production back about ten years.
That's all for now! Khot hap ee ko!
