Passanger Service
AirPos or Air Posillipo is the flag carrier of Posillipo. The airline was introduced in partnership with AirPol a subsidiary of AIR the largest commercial airline operator and TrentinoAir. With a fleet of 73 aircraft in use and 32 on order AirPos is the largest airline in Althena. The airlines main hubs are Athanos, Sévres, Agrilos, and Romanica. The airline has a strong local presence and is becoming a global force like its sister AirPol. Combined with AirPol , AirPos is a part of AIR which has the largest fleet in the world currently sitting at 274 aircraft with 122 on order. AirPos shares routes and code share agreements with AirPol which makes it one of the most competitive legacy carriers. In 2000 AirPos acquired 2 B747-400 aircraft for long haul flights as the airline Postran. Since then Postran continued to grow by acquiring 5 A330-300's and 1 A330-200. In 2005 the airline began to hit hard times. In 2010 negotiation started between Posillipo and AIR on the acquisition of Postran and conversion into a legacy carrier. In 2010 the airline got funding from AIR and begin to rapidly expand its fleet and routes. In 2011 Postran was taken over by AIR with TrentinoAir in a take over bid. AirPos was created in the look of AirPol. AIR took 51% majority stake while TrentinoAir took 49%. Following the purchase TrentinoAir went on to buy 49% stake in AirPol as well. In 2010 AirPos announced a further 18 orders of the B777-300ER and 6 orders of the B777-200ER. In 2011 the airline announced an order of 2 A330-200's and 6 A320-200's. The airline serves 198 destinations and with code share agreements with AirPol the two airlines service 306 destinations. The two airlines are similarly liveried so that they both benefit from the AIR brand. They were made to look similar to create a world airline brand in luxury and range. They differ only slightly where AirPos has a gold stripe to carry the colour of blue and gold from the flag, AirPol a red one from its flag. Both differ so they can be the flag carriers of their nations.
