United Nations Vessel America

It's the middle of the 22nd century, and having mastered Nuclear Fusion along with other things have allowed Humanity to start spreading out from Earth. A moderately sized colony of over 12,000 have settled on Luna and now the sister planet of Mars is in Humanity's sights. An internationally backed expedition aboard the United Nations vessel America is about to launch from her dock at Trinity Station. It will take months to reach Mars.

Okay guys to be clear, this is a ship, we're all crew on the ship, what positions do you think you'd be. Officers? Medical? Engineering? Science? It's not really that hard. lol And yes Jack you could be a government official overlooking the trip and being spoiled rotten.

Well, I'm definitely not a skience guy. So, it's the UN, not a corporation; which means I'm probably not a CEO or anything. Maybe I could still be one of the lead funders, or the guy who paid for all the research or materials.

A Space Tourist who paid $1,000,000 on the trip.

The space tourist began her (yes, I think I should do a woman) training at the Partners for America Space Agency. Partners for America is the organization that handles space tourists using the new Spacecraft America. She was trained in 0 gs and was also trained basic machinery in case of a minor hiccup but nothing major.

Lieutenant Drake was the military Attache from the United States and was assigned as part of the America's bridge staff, head of security. His job was to make sure nobody got any bad ideas during the months aboard the ship. Although lucky for him, good chunks of the trip would be spent asleep to minimize supply consumption. You just don't know what someone might do when placed in a confined space in the middle of empty nothing.

As the ship prepared for departure, Drake made final attendance calls through the living quarters, taking inventory of the passengers and crew. He had already stopped and checked in with the America's high value guest, a CEO of an Engineering corporation who thought Mars was his next big payday. He never did like those big corporate billionaires. Next on his list was a civilian who paid quite an awful lot to get a seat on the ship. A million U.S. dollars just to travel like this for 6 months and then become a colonist. Drake would have kept the money and settled down personally.

Well a million dollars is quite a small amount for a 6 month expedition(I mean the Everest Expedition from Kathmandu to Everest and back cost $100,000 dollars per head )

As the space tourist settled down on her chambers, she opens her tablet PC and said goodbye to her family through Skype as she will be missing for more than a decade as she would be settling down at Mars and exploring the landscape of the Red Planet. She already visited the colonized Luna, where her brother and his family lives. She did not like the place due to the high living cost and the barren landscape. She hopes that the Mars trip would be interesting.

The crew did the inventory on her wing and everything was accounted for. Now the Space Tourist awaits for departure of the craft; she'll leave behind many, but she has to find new opportunities for her and her future family.

Can I participate? I'll be a technician or something, so I can fix any future computer problems (I'm looking at you, all the laptops I've gone through).

Can I be the captain of the mission?! Or the weapons/defense specialist or even the driver
