First of all, I want to say I'm really sorry for being so inactive recently. Other things have distracted me and made me unable to work on Shayden for a while, but I'm finally making Smith City (since June of 2011, I've been waiting to make it until I thought I had enough skill, which I think I'm ready now). Sadly, this isn't a full update, but instead you'll get one picture.

I guess one is better then none. I'll keep working on Smith City, but I can't give myself a deadline, so see you when it's done.

Looks like a great city block! Great choice in Government building. I've seen it around and love the look.

That is the most beautiful city planning I have ever seen. Very Happy When I get my SC4 computer back, Troy is being rebuilt to live up to those new standards. Devil

Smith City Introduction

Today, we will be visiting the fine capital of Shayden named Smith City. On 1801, the Capital Act was signed making Smith City the capital of Shayden. Smith City holds the nation's Representatives, and President. Representatives are voted on by the citizens of that state, and the number of representatives for each state are determined by the population and the Federal law. At the moment one Representative represents 1,000,000 people, that was set into law in 1984. Back then Representatives only represented 500,000 people.

All of Shayden's Dependancies recieve and share two representatives, making the total number of Representatives in the Federal Council to 320.

The Aureus Tholus, Latin for "Golden Dome", is the Capitol of Shayden. Here Legislators meet up and create laws that benefit the nation and its people.

This is the convention center, right beside the Aureus Tholus. Here many conventions are held and almost any convention can be held there,
as long as it doesn't promote law-violating actions and it can be payed for.

There are many small businesses in Smith City, they sell goods and services which in turn helps preserve the rich economy Shayden
has to this day.

Thanks for reading! Sorry for the lack of activity, but I recently got a new laptop and had to set up Ubuntu and Windows 7 on it (I played SimCity 4 on Windows 7, I still need to get it set up for Ubuntu which Nonny Moose is helping me out with)

Thanks and see you next time! Smile

Amazing! So beatiful pictures! The Capitol re-lotting is amazing, and I really love the area surrounding the baseball field. I just wish we could see more. ^^

Are those all custom shops? And do you have a DL'd texture on?

I don't think you can tell if he has a Terrain mod or not since all the natural terrain is developed over. But I'm going to guess and assume he does since everyone pretty much does. And all those shops are definitely custom BATs.

That said, that city seems nothing but custom. Your plugins must be massive.

And what kind of editing do you do to your images to get that lighting?

Yeah. Razz A lot of them are the "Smalltown USA" lots on Simtropolis.

Photoshop CS2 for the lighting. He places two layers of the image, set "Soft Light" or something like that, then resizes it and combines it. Then, for the border, it is copied to PAINT.net where the border editing occurs. Wink
