New USNW Applicants
The International Assembly is caught up in a sudden rush of work as the November 30th Assembly Meeting gets underway with topics relating to the Union's infrastructure and future. While member nations discuss within the meeting, three new applications have been put forward by the nations of Matinenda, an Althenian nation, Tampuchai, an Itzamnan nation, and the United Isles of Tahak, a small band of two islands off the coast of Kuyrut with a population under 5 million. The last applicant, a close neighbor of Folland has caught the eyes of the Government a few times, most notably sharing certain distaste for the Folland government right along with the leadership of Kuyrut, however with recent events opening doors to Kuyrutian/Folland relations, hopes are high that the small islands nation will too become friends. For the most part, it seems Matinenda and Tampuchai are on the road to acceptance, with Tahak still awaiting international feedback.

Battlegroup Oddmund Sails for Home
The fleet of warships previously in conflict with the navy of Ghuangji is now on it's way back to Folland waters after resupplying and making emergency repairs in Okaiken. The fleet, having lost it's flagship, the F.N.S. Valour, an Aircraft Carrier feels defeated, yet victorious at the same time. On the scenes reports of crewmen of the new flagship claim they are still in disbelief of losing the Carrier to a bombing raid that destroyed parts of Albian city and it's port. Nevertheless the sailors feel they made an impact in the war which helped force the Ghuangjians to retreat from Nilia and the Ameka islands in the end. UT-130 Cargo planes have been dispatched to Nilia to evacuate the stranded troops in Albian city that escaped the Valour's sinking.

Currency May Change, but Not to the Eneio
Market advisers have discussed the current status of the economy in Euphemia and came up with scenarios, one of which contains plans to ween Folland off it's long standing Follar, and to embrace the currency used by both Shayden and Acadia. The Sent. Recognized by both countries, which are the largest economies on the continent, already makes the Sent a formidable medium of currency, which Folland might get into in the near future to better progress trade and commercialism within Euphemia between major markets.

MikeVM wrote:Military Suppresses Women, but for Different Reason

A new Act was passed earlier this morning relating to all branches of the Military, stating that Females are barred from any combat roles in the Folland Armed Forces. The initial reaction came with outrage. Womens groups were quick to call infringement on Womens rights, however a speech made by Chancellor Moen himself quieted the opposition as he was seen on national television in tears.

I know many of you are upset over this, recent Act. I am in no way hindering a Woman's right to be a Man's equal... (Chancellor took a pause to gather his thoughts.) I was informed three days ago that, my niece, Corporal Leah Desiree Moen was, killed in action while on tour in Malo. (The reporters were silent as he took another pause.) I want to save family from hearing this, tragic news about their sisters, daughters, cousins, friends. The women of this country are our future, for many reasons. I will do anything to safeguard them. (Chancellor Moen then walked away from the podium.)

The act was called, the Leah Moen Act of 2012.

A little late for me, but...

His Imperial and Royal Majesty King-Emperor Charles I extends his condolences to the Chancellor of Folland and his family, and requests to be allowed to attend the upcoming burial service, along with his brother, the Prince Imperial Luke, who has just returned from his own tour of duty in Malo.

Chancellor Moen appreciates the condolences and welcomes the King and Prince to the Burial service which is to be held on January 14th, which is Corporal Leah Moen's birthday. The service will be held in her hometown of Leahpolis (coincidence) in NorthWest Folland.

In The News Today

Cost of Living Gut Wrenching in the West
The cities along the western coastal and inland areas have always boasted the high income companies, including Aircraft Guru Uther&Trell Aeronautics which has it's National HQ based in Uthersfield, northwest of the capital Hinali. However these triple digit salary work places won't make that much of a difference when cost of living is higher than the national average. People who can't earn anything more than $4+ the minimum wage are moving in droves out east where the cost of living in cities like St. Nors, Ivouixnapolis, and Chetal are at the national average or lower.

Folland Begins Sales Deals with Euphemian Bloc
Major Military contractors are beginning to negotiate deals to sell standard Folland arms to neighboring nations currently participating in the Euphemian Bloc. Offers of the Type-5 Drake Main Battle Tank have already been made to the Military of Kaskaskia, as well as several UT-64 Helicopters to Kaskaskia and Acadia. Folland may make some purchases from Shayden in the near future.

Folland Welcomes Newest Province
Recent Political Talks ended with the newest Provincial addition to the country. Over the course of several weeks, the Okanapami Confederation, a small nation of islands including a parcel of the mainland west of Folland will integrate into Folland, becoming the 14th Province. Chancellor Moen announced this event live to the nation along with the Prime Minister by his side, who then will begin his new job as Governor, or resign to allow a new Governor to take his place. The Chancellor also proclaimed the Province will keep it's name so the people living there can remain true to their culture and identification. Protesters around the country however voiced their opinions of the move, claiming it as Imperialism. Conspiracy Theorists even claimed Chancellor Moen threatened the small country with Military force if they didn't hand over their lands. These theories, however, are just that and are not true.

Or maybe it was Acadia who threatened them. Devil

I think Acadia would like to purchase some of Folland's naval stuff (Our navy isn't great) and sell some fighter jets and stealth bombers to Folland (Our air force is great).

Combat in Malo Continues

Supporting Image

6th Mobile Pushes On
Militants continue to hound and attempt to impede the progress of Folland's Armed Forces in Malo in recent weeks, however Folland/Malonese coalition forces have advanced well into the desert, combing the sands and terrain for Militant command bunkers. The advancement however have progressed closer and closer to Forgian and Zebtesian borders, causing international tension to arise.

Acadia has begun operations in nearby Hedjaz and would like to offer a joint operation in the area. Both nations would assist the other in their fights.
