Scenes like this have become commonplace lately in Darnelle as violence rises after what started out as an innocent protest against the removing of several blocks of slums.
Feb 23: Several blocks of slums bought by large hotel chain. They propose to replace them with a resort.
Feb 25: Lax laws in Akemoor allow swifter decisions in companies, the people are being removed from their recently acquired land already.
Feb 25 (pm): A large amount of the people who were forced out their homes have gathered in a large cluster in an open space in the middle of the area. Known to the locals as Mornigty Square.
Feb 26: The hotel company begins use of tear gas to clear the crowd. The crowd is cleared by the end of the day, weapons stores record good sales.
Feb 27: First recorded death, a driver of a bulldozer is shot eight times before he can get to the site. More come after this as people try and take their land back.
Feb 27 (pm): The company not used to this level of resistance completely and utterly overreacts sending in hired 'police' and marksmen.
Feb 29: not much is recorded from this point, it is chaos. Complete chaos.
March 2: first reports of violence not tiered to the original incident. It is evident that people are taking this opportunity to rebel against anything they can.
March 3: Aid is asked for by government.
March 3 (pm): incident being compared to 1973 riots, we all hope not.
